Beudy-Ymwlch | Modern Self Catering Barn Conversion | Criccieth Llyn Peninsula

Beudy Ymwlch looking out towards Moel Hebog and Cwm Pennant

Beudy Ymlwch is a tasteful conversion with some nice modern features like under floor heating and a contemporary fitted kitchen. Two bedrooms in total, all on the ground floor. One double room and one family room with a double and a single bed. The double room boasts an en-suite wet-room and French windows leading out onto the patio. Very cosmopolitan for North Wales don’t you think? At this point you need to picture yourself stepping out onto the patio in your PJ’s with a mug of coffee freshly made by your partner. The morning sun warming your face as you look out onto the mountains of Snowdonia. Have I sold it to you yet?

Anyway, there’s also a large bathroom with bath and shower over, sink, wc etc. The nicest space in the cottage however, apart from outside maybe, is the living area. The lounge, kitchen and dinning have been combined into a large open plan room. Discerning furniture combined with the slate floors, log burner and lofted ceilings give this space a wonderful feel.

Location

The first thing that everybody writes in the guest book is ‘Fantastic Views!’. And they’re right of course. Beudy-Ymlwch together with Stabal-Ymlwch next door looks out onto some of the most beautiful mountain scenery you could ever wish for. It’s sure to inspire even the most ardent couch potato.

As well as the mountains of Snowdonia the cottage is also ideally suited to explore the seaside villages of the Llyn Peninsula. Criccieth, 3 miles away, is one of those hidden gems of the North Wales coastline. It has, of course, its world famous ‘Cadwaledrs’ ice cream and the usual cafés and fish and chip shops but, for a small village, it boast’s some really quite nice restaurants. The ever popular  market town of Pwllheli and fashionable Abersoch are a little further along the coast. The nearest town with supermarket etc is Porthmadog, some 5 miles away.

A lovely holiday “home”. Waking up to wonderful views, peace & quiet, am I dreaming, then falling asleep looking at the stars above. We have had a good week, with weather to match. We had a trip on the Ffestiniog Railway, well worth the money, the vies were outsatanding & met a lovely lady and couple from Stoke. Plenty to see and this time of year, no traffic hardley. As someone famous, once said I’ll (we’ll) be back!!

  2. Julia + Norman. S.Wales says:

We did come back & we really enjoyed. This cottage feels like a second home. It’s just fantastic.

  3. Claire + Paul. London + Somerset says:

Terrific views of mountains opposite – some days we even saw the top of them! Brilliant accommodation – heated floors are a real treat for the feet. We suggest anyone stopping here tries the excellent deli and butchers in Criccieth – top stuff.

  4. Priscila & Paul, Bristol says:

We all had a good week away, some good weather – lots of walks and sight seeing. Loads of food, wine & laughter! Brilliant views from a well thought out conversion. Thank you. An excelent holiday.

  5. Sara, Richard, Catherine (age 5) and Lucy (10 months) Bonham. Leighton Buzzard says:

We all really enjoyed our week in Norht Wales. The cottage is just what we wanted – vey comfortable and stunning views. It has been lovely waking up and looking out at the mountains. This is a great place from which to explore the area and we’ve visited: castles at Beaumaris, Carnarfon & conwy; Portmeirion; Greenwood Forest Park (Catherine’s favourite especially the “Bearfoot Trail”); Welsh highland Railway; the mountains; Aber Falls – nice walk and not too strenuous for a 5yr old! We had a lovely meal @ Granville’s in Criccieth which we’d definately recommend. All in all a wonderfull holiday and we’d certainly all love to come back.

  6. The Reids, London says:

Loved the property, it was clean and warm with magnificent views. Well furnished and properly looked after. The location was ideal for exploring and the eggs from the farm were great. We will be back (to this or another) and will recommend to anyone we know who is thinking of heading your way. Y Sgwar do a great meal and Go Ape in Doed Y Brenin was fun. The pizzas in Beddgelert were just right after walking up Snowdon, the walk at Cwm Idwal was wonderful – not too tasking but great views.

  7. PATRICIA & DAVID, SOUTHAMPTON says:

This was a lovely property, clean and warm, we particularly liked the wood burner. Although the weather was not great we still enjoyed our stay. We will definately be back and will be recommending this cottage to friends and family. We managaed to get tickets on the last train for 2010 up Snowdon Mountain, what a fantastic trip. We rarely eat out so we always look for a well equipped kitchen and this property had it all, very good cooker and dishwasher, together with numerous crockery and cutlery. We also loved the wet room and underfloor heating. Fantastic views, we had a lovely holiday.

  8. Akif and friends, London says:

This self catered accommodation was really nice, warm and cosy! The surrounding view is beautiful. At a very affordable price- we had a lovely time and would definietly recommend it to you all!
