It is hard not to enjoy a visit to a farm shop or deli. Just being in the presence of homegrown local produce, organic meat and pesticide free everything can make us feel very virtuous. Packed full with things like charcol salt along with delicious cheeses, salamis crackers and condiments galore, they are a great foodie shopping experience… here are our top 5 Farm Shops & Delis | North Wales.


 

RHUG ESTATE

Rhug Estate has is all. Alongside the farmshop, they have a cafe and restaurant and all sell the organic produce they rear and grow on the farm. Their organic meat is well known the world over. The shop come deli offers a great range of cheeses, olives and pies along with a wonderful selection of locally sourced condiments. The Bison Grill is an all day dining area while ‘On The Hoof’ Takeaway offer incredible burgers etc.


 

BODNANT WELSH FOOD CENTRE

With a bakery, butchery, dairy, deli and a wine shop, the food centre is an award winning foodie heaven! Established in 2012, the meat is sourced from local suppliers while the butter, cheese and ice cream are all made within 24 hours of milking the cows which graze less than a mile away from the centre. Breads, cakes and pies are made freshly every day on the premisies and a wide range of artisan food products are also avaible.


 

HOOTON’S FARM SHOP

This family run farm, based on Anglesey rear all the meat and grow the seasonal fruit and vegetables they sell in the farm shop. Alongside the homegrown / home reared produce they sell, they also have a busy kitchen where pies, cakes, chutneys and jams are made using their own produce. There are 2 ‘pick your own strawberry’ fields that are open during the summer months.


 

LECHYD DA DELI

Based in the centre of Betws Y Coed this is a fab place offering lots of local produce alongside some great and unusual international brands. Including specialist products for sugar free and gluten free diets, they also sell a wide range of cheese’s and pate’s, fancy pasta, salami’s and meats, antipasto, decorative jars of oils and vinegars and cakes.


 

BLAS AR FWYD

This is one of the best foodie destinations in Wales. A one-stop shop including a delicatessen, a bakery and wine merchant. Selling locally sourced Welsh lamb, pork, beef, chicken, fish and cheeses they also have a dry-cured ham along with hot and cold food they make on site. The collection of local alcohol is said to be largest collection in Wales and includes Welsh mead, a local poteen, local whisky, liqueurs, ciders, wines and beers.
