Two Bedroom Seaside Holiday Cottage | Cornel-Glyd

Two Bedroom Seaside Holiday Cottage Near Barmouth

Cornel-Glyd is a two bedroom seaside holiday cottage near Barmouth. One of a three cottage barn conversion in the popular seaside village of Tal-Y-Bont. This modern and stylish two bedroom one storey cottage offers a great base for family holidays by the sea.

Oak stable doors open onto a large open plan living space. An elegant white kitchen with matching appliances creates a bright and cheery mood. On the other side of the room, leather sofas, large flat screen TV and under-floor heating ensures a comfortable stay for all guests.

The bathroom is also immaculately done. A large and powerful shower with marbled walls adds that touch of luxury. The bedrooms are equally sumptuous. One large double room and one smaller twin room, both on the ground floor and both with sea views. It’s a very professional conversion. Everything has been immaculately laid out and nothing has been left to chance.

There’s a large patio area outside with a BBQ all very safe and secure for children. The cottage owners have also teamed up with a nearby caravan park so from March until November cottage guests have free access to all the parc’s leisure facilities . Facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool and and entertainment lounge. They also have a ramp for launching small boats into the bay. Don’t forget to register your boat with he harbor master at Barmouth. Plenty of parking at the cottage for cars and boats.

Most people visiting this seaside holiday cottage and Tal-Y-Bont itself, naturally come to be beside the sea. And the cottage does not fail to provide that most traditional of British holidays. In the summer the village is transformed into a bustling coastal community. Fresh sea air carries with it the smell off newly lit BBQ’s and the sound of children’s laughter. It never rains in Wales. Honest! So don’t forget your flip flops. Socks optional.

Tal-Y-Bont is more of a sleepy little village during the winter months. A different but equally enjoyable experience. Deserted beaches and quiet country pubs gives cottage guests a chance to relax and unwind.

If you choose, there are lot’s of activities in the area throughout the year, all accesible from this seaside holiday cottage. Everything from adrenaline fuelled white water rafting, mountain biking and gorge walking to more relaxing pastimes such as fishing, golf and bird spotting.

Geographically, the ever popular seaside town of Barmouth is a short drive to the south. Harlech with its historic castle and award winning links golf course is to the north. And the majestic mountains that rise up to the east of the village are crisscrossed with footpaths and bridleways for you to explore.

We felt very at home at Cornel Glyd. It was easy to find and its location was perfect. This short holiday was an opportunity to visit family in the area and we are definitely booking again for next year. Thank you.

Lovely property clean and modern, great location and wonderful service from the lease company. It could do with wifi and an iron though!!!

  3. Andrea Lynch says:

A beautiful, comfortable and modern conversion set in glorious countryside with easy access to all the main attractions of the area. Would definitely recommend and revisit. Shame there isn’t a dishwasher and could probably do with a couple of bigger pans.

  4. Deepthi, Swansea says:

Lovely and very modern accommodation in a good location. We liked that there is “Attention to Details” all over the place. Even the wall clock had been updated, though DST was changed only on that day. Just loved the color scheme. Enjoyed the big powerful shower. We stayed for only 2 days, would have been good if it was a longer stay. Only suggestion is to have a bath mat in the bathroom.

  5. Mary Buckley High Ercall says:

Very pleasent stay, superb accomdation, loved the power shower and bathroom tap. In all a great place to stay will book again for a third visit. The welcome pack was most acceptable.

Particularly enjoyed the use of free swimming pool at Sunny Sands Caravan Park- ideal to go there
    on a dull day.

We are aged 70+ and found it was difficult getting over the pebbles to the sandy beach, but we managed!

A fantastic holiday in a beautiful cottage. It was spotlessly clean, very modern touches. We had no complaints at all and will definately be rebooking for next year. It was better than we could of wished for and we felt instantly at home. We arrived to find a lovely welcome hamper. We even had fantastic hot weather. And what a lovely pleseant cleaning lady who we met briefly before we left, she does a great job x

We were over the moon with our stay at Cornel Glyd. The cottage was beautifully presented, well equipped, and although in a group setting we felt secluded and not overlooked. The short distance to the beach was perfect for our dogs, who enjoyed their holiday as much as we did. We hope as dog owners we gave a good account of ourselves also, and that we would be welcome to return to this holiday venue in the future.

things to do.we trying to find work down your next of the woods, and somewhere to live

  12. John Cutts, Birmingham says:

I stayed for a short break at Cornel-Glyd in Talybont with my wife and two children. The apartment is beautiful and the location fantastic for walking and the beach. Only this cottage/barn seems to get the morning sun which was unexpected in October when we didn’t expect to have breakfast outside in Wales! The stable door was a great idea as the underfloor heating was very warm and it was great to be able to open the top half and watch the sun go down. The local village has a pub, restaurant and shop and Barmouth is just a 10 minute drive and Harlech the same. I would recommend it.

  13. Stuart & Family, Staffordshire says:

We stayed over the Easter week and had suprisingly good weather. This meant that the sea (which is about a 5 minute stroll away) looked turquoise in the sun and crystal clear, whereas the mountains to the rear were snow-capped. The scenery really was fantastic and we never tired of seeing the snowy mountains which were often breathtaking. The barn conversion was very tastefully done and provided a real home from home. My wife particularly enjoyed the under floor heating throughout. The shower temprature was occasionally hit or miss, but that was about our only criticism. The pub is within strolling distance and the ales on offer were expertly cared for and changed regularly. The food from the pub was nice, but overpriced. Overall then, it was a lovely, relaxing break made all the better by the weather and the scenery.

  14. Sara Graves, Warwickshire says:

A really lovely cottage, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the location is great and given the weather appreciated the underfloor heating. Would recommend the cottage but not the weather!

  15. Glen and Hayley Wilkins, Northamptonshire says:

Hi, just arrived home after a five night stay in Cornel glyd. We were very impressed with this lovely little cottage, it came with all mod cons, underfloor heating, beautiful comfy beds, fantastic shower that you just didnt want to leave. The place was spotless. We could see the sea from the windows, and the beach is just a short walk away .This place is in a great position with a train station a minute away that goes along the coast. The Isle Of Bryn pub is a ten minute drive away and the food is great. The weather we had was fairly good, . We had a lovely holiday and we definitely return.

  16. Kate, Yorkshire says:

Great little cottage in a lovely location – Cornel Glyd is well equipped and is a great base to explore this part of wales. It is surprisingly quiet, despite being amongst a number of caravan sites and is only a short walk down to the beach. It was really lovely sitting outside at 8pm with a chilled glass of wine and watching the sun go down.
The kids absolutely loved the Sunnysands swimming pool, which was very child friendly and was lovely and warm. We spent well over an hour there each day and were lucky that it was very quiet out of season. Also recommend the waterfalls near Llanbedr for a really great walk and of course the sand dunes at Benar Beach for running up and down for many an hour. Shell Island is also worth a visit for the spectacular views.
All in all a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday. Am already looking forward to another visit in the not too distant future.

  17. David B, Cwmbran says:

Would recommend Cornel Glyd very highly. The cottage is very well equipped and in a quiet child friendly and safe location. The owners live behind the cottages and are a lovely couple with fantastic kids.
Location is excellent for very nice beach, Barmouth and Harlech – plenty of walking and cycling in the area.
No complaints at all!! Give it a go

  18. The Haydons, Ilkeston, Derbyshire says:

Lovely cottage – super comfy beds, clean and well equipped. Great location – five mins to beach (though road could be busy). Lots to see and do near by. Beach at Harlech fantastic. Would recommend eating at The Captain’s Table Barmouth. Trip to King Arthurs Labyrinth a must for the children.

  19. jacqui Mee Leicester says:

Just baack from our week in Cornel Glyd, it was brilliant! We know the area well but hadnt stopped in these cottages before, we were a little worried incase the cottage wasnt as nice as it looks in the pictures, but we need not have worried as they are better than the pictures! Amazing comfy beds with spotlessly clean bed linen. We are already arranging time off work to go back! We also had the next door cottage Sisial-y-mor as we were a party of 6 with 3 dogs, i will be recommending both cottages to family and friends. Thank you also for the welcome pack.

  20. Ken Owen. Bridgend says:

A very nice cottage in a lovely location, spotlessly clean and with very comfy beds. Ticks all the boxes for a great break.

  21. Lynn ,Marie and Lilly. Dudley says:

We had a fantastic week. Weather was glorious. Cottage was lovely, clean and well equipped. We had a dog with us who loved the amazing beach. We hope we will be able to return next year.

  22. Alison rayner, Nottingham says:

Very pleased with the quality and standard of the accommodation and a really nice touch to have a lovely welcome basket! The bed was really comfy and it was useful having 2 settees for relaxing in. Great to have a large TV too! The area is outstanding – like the Lake District by the sea and the cottage was ideally placed for trips up and down the coast and inland. Particular mention for: Harlech beach, the drive around to Abersoch and beach, the walk along the beach to Barmouth at low tide and the jewel that is Aberdovey.
The icing on the cake would have been a wi-fi connection in the cottage. We understand that there was one in the middle cottage but it couldn’t go through the stone walls to us so a separate router would have been welcome. All in all a lovely holiday destination with helpful owners nearby. PS the fish and chips at Billy’s were gorgeous!
