This comfortable three bedroom cottage near Nantlle Ridge is the perfect base from which to explore the rugged beauty of North Wales. Friendly and helpful owners who keep the cottage spotlessly clean add that personal touch that is so important.
The cottage is one of two newly built semi detached houses in the sleepy village of Talysarn. Some steps lead up from the two private off road parking spots at the front of the houses. From the entrance hallway, we turn right into a spacious and well-equipped kitchen. A nice breakfast bar with stools down one side of the room will help mum and dad have a quiet relaxing breakfast before the kids get up. The inclusion of a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and large fridge freezer will also help your holiday go that little bit smoother once everybody is in full flow.
A more formal dining table is located in another room towards the rear of the house. This space also provides the seating area with two plush leather sofas facing onto a large flat screen TV. This room also benefits from some lovely patio doors that lead directly out to the rear garden. Returning through to the entrance hall, one final room houses a ground floor WC and washbasin.
There are three bedrooms upstairs. One single room, one twin room and one king-size bed room. There’s lovely bedding on all the beds complimented by nice simple fixtures and fittings. Again, the attention to detail and cleanliness of this property is second to none. A family bathroom at the end of the landing has a good powerful shower hanging over a full sized bath.

A nice picnic bench on a small patio area catches a lot of the midday sun to the front of the house. A square bit of lawn then leads down to the two parking bays and the quiet road that leads through this quiet village. The back garden is similarly simple with a lawned area flanked by flowerbeds. The fact that this area is fully and securely enclosed will be a big bonus for dog owners I’m sure.
A lot of our guests will want to climb Snowdon during their stay. Rhyd Ddu and Beddgelert, some 6 miles to the south of the cottage are popular starting points for this. The Narrow gauge steam train that runs through both villages is also a big draw and Beddgelert in particular has a lovely selection of cafes and pubs to enjoy.
There are lots of walks to be enjoyed right from your front door including a well-defined walk round the Dorethea lakes which comprise of five very deep former slate quarry pits; this is a must during your stay. A quick visit to Pant Du, a successful vineyard which is again, walking distance from the cottage is also recommended.
In stark contrast to the rugged mountains there are also lots of beautiful sandy beaches nearby. Dinas Dinlle beach and the larger Black Rock sands are a great option on sunny days. North Wales is of course now famous for its adventure activities and the cottage is ideally located if this is your plan. Our Snowdonia Information Packs will give you a full list of options and ideas.
