This three-bedroom cottage with sea views near Abersoch is the quintessential seaside holiday home. Chic interior décor, a secluded south facing patio and a quiet yet fashionable location make this cottage the perfect coastal holiday retreat.
A large living room includes a beautiful antique dining table at one end and a welcoming log fire at the other. A high vaulted ceiling gives the great sense of space and light during the day. In the evening, when the sun has dipped into the bay, lots of comfortable seating and elegant mood lighting help transform the room into a cosy and homely sanctuary.
The kitchen is smaller but very well equipped and includes a dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer as well as a modern electric oven and hob. A large picture window by the sink faces out onto the patio and large private lawned area.
From the kitchen, a short flight of stairs takes us up into the first of three bedrooms up in the eaves of the cottage. A large king sized bed sits below whitewashed stone walls and white cotton linen. A small flat screen tv sits atop a lovely mahogany chest of drawers while the extra elevation makes those sea views from the large velux window even more spectacular.
We descend back to the kitchen and turn back on our selves to access the other two bedrooms. On the way we pass the first of two bathrooms on our right. This one includes a large modern shower, wc and washbasin.
We continue to a smaller child’s bedroom. This is classed as a child’s room as the occupants of the third bedroom have to pass through here to get to bed. I’m sure this won’t be a problem with smaller family groups but check with the others in your party just in case.
The third bedroom is, again, furnished and decorated to a very high standard. Carefully selected antique furniture is dotted around a large kingsized bed. A set of French doors at the foot of the bed open out onto views of Cambrian Bay and the mountains of Snowdonia beyond. The perfect way to wake up in the morning.

Guests to the cottage, I’m sure, will spend as much time as possible eating and relaxing on the private and quiet patio to the rear of the cottage. A second terraced area provides more space for those summer BBQs and a large enclosed lawn gives the kids plenty of space to run around in.
One off the perks of this property is its setting in the grounds of the Porth Tocyn Hotel. Guests, therefore have full access of the hotel amenities during the season which include the restaurant and the swimming pool.
The sheltered sandy beaches of this part of the Llyn Peninsula have long been a favourite of many visitors to North Wales. They offer the perfect location for that traditional family seaside holiday with the added luxury of some exclusive shops and restaurants in Abersoch.
You may also like to explore the northen edge of the peninsula to the more exposed beaches of Porth Neigwl and Porth Oer. These are perfect for guests who like surfing and kite surfing. In contrast, the calmer seas towards Pwllheli are more suitable for sailing, wakeboarding and water skiing.
You don’t have to get wet of course. There are a couple of riding stables nearby and wonderful picturesque golf course within walking distance of the cottage. A scattering of medieval castles and historic narrow gage steam railways sit comfortably with new adventure activities such as zip lining and paintballing. The choice is naturally yours.
