This farm holiday cottage with mountain views is a beautifully converted two bedroom stone barn that sits high above the river Wnion half way between the market towns of Dolgellau and Bala in the Snowdonia National Park.
..Snowdonia national park..
..Spacious and bright..
Downstairs the living area has a nice open plan arrangement. The dinning area and lounge are is a spacious and bright room. The kitchen is smaller but very well equipped and has some wonderful French doors which open out onto the fantastic vista of Cader Idris and the surrounding mountains.
Substantial wooden dining chairs surround the large dining table as an elegant country dresser stands guard on the rear wall. The adjoining lounge area houses a sumptuous leather three-piece suit as well as the usual digital TV DVD player etc.
Tasteful ornaments and soft furnishings help create a relaxed comfortable space. A useful ground floor wc and washbasin is located under the stairs.
There are two bedrooms up stairs. One double and one twin room. The twin room is again, beautifully finished with character features like exposed wooden trusses and ledge and brace doors. A small en-suite bathroom contains a wc washbasin and shower cubicle.
The double room also has an en-suite bathroom. This time with a lovely corner bath. But the best feature here perhaps is the access that is afforded out onto the raised decking area to the rear of the cottage. A private sheltered area facing south across the valley floor and the river Wnion and out to the mountains beyond.
I should also mention that guests to the cottage also benefit from being afforded the very exclusive Prince Albert fishing rights for the stretch of the river Wnion that runs past the cottage.

The cottage is located in a relatively remote spot on a working welsh hill farm in Southern Snowdonia. The location and layout of the cottage means guests, whilst having the opportunity to watch or even get involved in farm activities, can also have a more private secluded holiday if they prefer.
The market town of Dolgellau is a 10 minute drive to the west and has a nice selection of cafes, restaurants, local craft shops and bike hire shop. We wouldn’t expect our self catering guests to buy any livestock during their stay but a visit to the cattle ring on market day can be very entertaining and educational.
Another 10 minutes west will bring you to the seaside town of Barmouth. A big favourite with many tourists during the summer months. Wide and open sandy beaches, fish and chips, donkey rides, and the compulsory candy floss and kiss me
quick hats is difficult to resist on sunny days.
On another day you may decide to head East to Bala. Water sports such as sailing, wind surfing or kayaking can be enjoyed on the river Tegid and white water rafting is very popular a little further up on the Tryweryn River.
