This four bedroom holiday cottage in the heart of Snowdonia is the perfect mountain getaway. Complete with a log fire, the Scumble glaze wood panelled walls and doors add to the character and feel of being out in the mountains.
The main entrance to the cottage brings you into the sitting room. A cosy room with a log burner and a mix of traditional and contemporary furniture which works really well to give the room a bright feel. The open staircase leading upstairs from here also gives a sense of space.
Leading from the sitting room is the kitchen. A huge room that runs the width of the house. At one end, a room for reading and general sitting around and the other end, the main kitchen. A traditional AGA is a great addition and the rest of the kitchen falls around this. Traditional olds Scumble glaze wood cupboards combined with the modern additions all come together really nicely providing a lovely space to cook and enjoy meals together.
Next to the kitchen are two utility type rooms. One is home to a washing machine and WC and the other is by the back door which has a wet room shower set up for washing dogs and boots…. the panoramic windows don’t lend this room for personal showers, but don’t worry, there are more than enough upstairs!
Upstairs, you could feel like you were in a hunting lodge with all the original scumble glaze panelled walls in the hallway – absolutely lovely. There are four bedrooms up here; one superking, one king size and two twins, all of which are simply, but nicely decorated. There’s an en-suite to one of the doubles with a shower, WC and washbasin and a separate family bathroom which is home to a jacuzzi bath, shower, WC and washbasin.
Outside, the private garden has views to die for. Mature shrubs and well kept lawns frame the cottage perfectly and the large hot tub towards the back of the house is a very welcome addition.

The house is located in Nantmor, a small hamlet on the outskirts of Beddgelert. A really beautiful place if you want to get away from it all. There are many walks and cycling routes straight from the house.
Beddgelert is the nearest village and whilst there is no supermarket there, you will find a general store and post office which have an excellent range of groceries and household goods. It is also home to Glaslyn Ice-cream which you must try if you are there as well as the great cafe next to it. Some lovely craft shops, pubs, restaurants and walks here that will certainly keep you entertained.
Porthmadog is 15 mins and Caernarfon is 25 minutes drive away. Both are larger towns and where you will find the main supermarkets along with a good selection of cafes, restaurants and shops. Porthmadog is home to the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland steam railway and Caernarfon has of course the famous Castle. Snowdon itself is a 25 min drive or there is a foot path up Snowdon at Rhyd Ddu which is 15 minutes drive away and you are only 20 mins away from places like Portmeirion Village, 45 mins from the National White Water centre in Bala, 50 mins from Surf Snowdonia and Zip World Fforest. So really well located to access all sorts of different activities.
