Glaslyn-House is a beautiful four-bedroom holiday cottage on the Glaslyn River near Beddgelert in North Wales. This beautiful home is set within a large garden in what is a truly unique and wonderful location.
A small entrance lobby leads us into a large kitchen diner. Two long wooden benches standing on a slate floor flank a sturdy dining table. The surrounding fitted units are topped off with a lovely marble worktop and include all the essentials for a self-catering holiday, including a double oven, washing machine and induction hob.
A small hallway leads us to a second bathroom / utility room. This includes a washing machine and a wc, washbasin and shower. A little further on we come to the lounge. This is another generously proportioned space with two large comfortable sofas facing onto a large modern TV. The log fire in the corner of the room is naturally a very welcome addition.
The adjoining conservatory will be the favourite room for most guests during the summer months. A large garden table and chairs allows guests to dine in this area if preferred. Throw the patio doors open and you’ll have the sound of the river as a perfect musical backdrop to your meal.
There are four bedrooms upstairs, two double rooms, one twin room and one single room. Ensuring the house will sleep up to seven guests quite comfortably. Each one of the bedrooms is beautifully furnished and decorated and include plenty of storage space for clothes. A central family bathroom includes a large bath as well as a separate shower cubicle, wc and washbasin.

Glaslyn-House is located in a truly unique and wonderful setting. A large garden and lawns run down to a private riverbank. (This will naturally mean that toddlers will have to be supervised at all times.) A wooded area on the opposite bank filled with wildlife helps create a perfect quiet idyll for lazy afternoon picnics or early morning fishing sessions.
A lovely footpath will lead you up along the river to the village of Beddgelert about 1.5 miles away. The village has long been popular with holiday makers to the area and includes a couple of nice pubs, restaurant, craft shops and famous ice cream parlour. The village also acts as a base for tourists wanting to catch the narrow gauge steam train or climb nearby Snowdon.
The larger harbour town of Porthmadog is some 10 minutes away by car and the castle town of Caernarfon is about 30 minutes away. With mountains, castles, beaches and adventure centres also within easy reach there shouldn’t be any problems with things to do during your stay.
