The kitchen, like the rest of the cottage, is finished to a very high standard. Stainless steel appliances are flanked by sleek fitted kitchen units. All the utensils you could ask for are included, as you’d expect from a five star cottage. The washing machine and tumble dryer are in a separate utility room. More storage space available here. One of the many advantages of this property is the ground floor double bedroom. Combined with the adjoining family bathroom the cottage works really well for family groups where Grandma and Granddad might prefer a bedroom on the lower floor. Two more bedrooms upstairs separated by a second bathroom. This bathroom is smaller but houses a powerful walk in corner shower cubicle as well as a wc and wash basin.
The cute but spacious twin bedroom has two solid oak beds covered in turn by superior bedding. Matching oak bedside tables, dressing table and wardrobe are complimented by some nice homely touches. All three bedrooms have a tv. The master double bedroom has a king sized bed and similarly matching bedroom furniture as well as the added luxury of large balcony area with seating. Barmouth it the quintessential traditional seaside holiday town. It has been the favourite summer destination for generations of UK holiday makers. Most famous of course for it’s blue flag award winning sandy beach the town comes complete with the obligatory fish and chip shops, ice cream stalls and penny arcades. But Barmouth has more than that to offer.
The old town on the rock is a fascinating mix of ally ways and steep steps. The cliffs above were the first acquisition of the then fledgling National Trust and offer stunning views across Cardigan Bay. From here you can also see The Mawddach Cycle Trail. A route that starts at Barmouth and runs eastwards along the river estuary towards Dolgellau. A family friendly trail recognised as one of the most beautiful in the UK.
The mountains of Snowdonia provide a dramatic backdrop to the town. Traditional pastimes such as walking and fishing are naturally very popular but new adventure sports are also available. Activities such as rock climbing, gorge walking and sea kayaking are all available within a short drive. Finally, a selection of pubs and restaurants in town ensures guests are fed and watered as necessary.
