Sisial-Y-Mor | Seaside Beach Self Catering Cottage | Tal Y Bont Barmouth Sleeps4
Property Type: Cottages, Pet Friendly, Sleeps 2-3, Sleeps 4-5, Tal Y Bont

Sisial-Y-Mor is a two bedroom barn conversion in Tal-Y-Bont, a popular seaside village just to the north of Barmouth here in Snowdonia. This middle cottage in a row of three has been renovated to a very high standard. There are some really nice fixtures like the oak ledge and brace doors, thermostatically controlled under-floor heating and marbelled bathroom with powerful shower. The furnishings have also been chosen with care and attention to detail. Everything from the elegant curtains, the stylish bedside lamps right down to the matching kitchen utensils. All have been carefully considered.
The accommodation itself comprises a large open plan living area with great sea views. The dining table sits to one side and comfortable leather sofas and large flat screen TV take up the rest of the room. High vaulted ceiling create a sense of space and light.
A central hallway leads to a thoroughly modern and spacious kitchen and bathroom. In the kitchen, sleek white fitted units are topped with a darker work surface matching the tiled floor. The marbled bathroom contains a large bath with a shower over.
In the master bedroom a king-size bed is flanked by the whitewashed stone walls and original timber beams helping to retain the character of this old barn. The second twin bedroom is smaller but equally tasteful.
There’s a large patio area outside with a BBQ all very safe and secure for children. The cottage owners have also teamed up with a nearby caravan park so from March until November cottage guests have free access to all the parc’s leisure facilities . Facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool and and entertainment lounge. They also have a ramp for launching small boats into the bay. Don’t forget to register your boat with he harbor master at Barmouth. Plenty of parking at the cottage for cars and boats.
Location
Most people visiting Tal-Y-Bont come to be beside the sea. And the cottage does not fail to provide that most traditional of British holidays. In the summer the village is transformed into a bustling coastal community. Fresh sea air carries with it the smell off newly lit BBQ’s and the sound of children’s laughter. It never rains in Wales. Honest! So don’t forget your flip flops. Socks optional.
Tal-Y-Bont is more of a sleepy little village during the winter months. A different but equally enjoyable experience. Deserted beaches and quiet country pubs gives cottage guests a chance to relax and unwind.
If you choose, there are lot’s of activities in the area throughout the year. Everything from adrenaline fuelled pursuits like white water rafting, mountain biking and gorge walking to more relaxing pastimes such as fishing, golf and bird spotting.
Geographically, the ever popular seaside town of Barmouth is a short drive to the south. Harlech with its historic castle and award winning links golf course is to the north. And the majestic mountains that rise up to the east of the village are crisscrossed with footpaths and bridleways for you to explore.

We had a lovely week at Sisial-y-Mor! The cottage was furnished and decorated beautifully. Our two boys (aged 5 & 3) loved their room and really enjoyed being able to see the sea. We were ideally situated for the train line which was 2 minutes walk away. We travelled up to Harlech castle, then up again to Porthmadog for the Blaenau Ffestiniog steam railway. We also went down to Tywyn so that the boys could go over the Barmouth Harbour bridge and then back again up to Criccieth Castle. As for the beaches, well they are just about perfect with us all having a fabulous time at Shell Island. The weather started off bad but the last 4 days were glorious. The cottage really was home from home and it was great to have a washing machine on hand so that I didn’t have to do a mountain of washing when we got home. I could of stayed for another week easily but work and school beckon. I would definitely recommend this cottage and would love to come back for another family holiday in the years to come. Many thanks.
It was the first time we had been on holiday as a new family with our 6 month old daughter Chloe and we had a lovely stay in the cottage. It is a beautiful place with a lovely view, and dispite the windy weather that week, the cottage was a lovely place to retreat back two. The 2 bedrooms made it perfect for us and our daughters routine, and the fab kitchen facilities made it a home from home. We enjoyed the pool nearby and spent some time attemping to win teddies in the ammusements! I would reccommend this to anyone with a little one/s looking for a real change of scene. Thanks very much for a lovely time.
Sisial-y-Mor is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places we have ever stayed in. The barn conversion is beautiful throughout and finished to a very high spec, it made our holiday extra special.
Rosie & I enjoyed the extra-large & very comfortable double bed and the extra deep bath that easily fits two. We were able to get fully relaxed and leave all of our problems behind us for the week.
There’s a beautiful view from the cottage and the beach was only a 5 minute walk, with a couple of places to stop off for a beer on the way!
Rosie & I fell in love with the resident lambs in the field at Sisial-y-Mor and feeding time with the geese was great fun (watch your fingers though).
The only down-side was that we didn’t want to leave.
We can’t recommend this place enough, we will be back when we want to escape from it all again (very soon we hope).

Beautiful cottage and location, we couldnt have asked for more, thank you so much. Beach is just a short walk and we loved the chickens and geese. The under floor heating was soooooo lovely.
We had the most relaxing and peaceful stay in this stunning cottage. Immaculate throughout and a 5 minute walk to the beautiful (and deserted) beach. We cannot recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning. Fabulous.
