Stabal-Ymlwch has been recently converted from what was a genuine working stable into some attractive and comfortable accommodation for guests wanting to explore Snowdonia. And it’s been done very well. The slate floors, original exposed beams and exposed stonework ensure ensures that the character of this building remains. There are modern features of course. The slate floor is gently warmed by under-floor heating, there’s a newly fitted kitchen, en-suite bathrooms with power-shower etc. And don’t worry, I was reliably informed, that the horses have been found suitable alternative accommodation.
The property can sleep a maximum of 6. But can be booked in conjunction with Stabal-Ymlwch next door which can sleep an additional 5. Perfect for groups or extended families. The master bedroom has one double bed and one single bed. It also has an en-suite shower, sink and wc but it’s best feature is the full length window with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. There’s also a smaller double bedroom and a third single bedroom. One more bathroom upstairs with bath, sink and wc.
Downstairs there’s a spacious kitchen dinner with all the facilities you would need and a wonderful lounge with the all important log burner. Perfect if you’re considering a winter break in the mountains.

The first thing that everybody writes in the guest book is ‘Fantastic Views!’. And they’re right of course. Stabal-Ymlwch together with Beudy-Ymlwch next door looks out onto some of the most beautiful mountain scenery you could ever wish for. It’s sure to inspire even the most ardent couch potato.
As well as the mountains of Snowdonia the cottage is also ideally suited to explore the seaside villages of the Llyn Peninsula. Criccieth, 3 miles away, is one of those hidden gems of the North Wales coastline. It has, of course, its world famous ‘Cadwaledrs’ ice cream and the usual cafés and fish and chip shops but, for a small village, it boast’s some really quite nice restaurants. The ever popular market town of Pwllheli and fashionable Abersoch are a little further along the coast. The nearest town with supermarket etc is Porthmadog, some 5 miles away.

Beautiful cottage with lovely views, thoughrly enjoyed our weeks stay. Both cottages were ideal for our big family holiday, the children loved being able to come and visit the other ‘home’. We all didn’t get tired at looking at the stunning views in all different weather. (Which we had a mixed bag this week!) Already planning our return visit, thanx.
Stunning conversion, fantastic views. Loved everything about the cottage – kittchen, wet room. My 3 year old loved his double bed and now wants one at home! I would recommend Newborough Warren and Llandwyn Island on Anglesey, Llechwedd Slate Caverns and climbing Snowdon from Rhyd Ddu (much quieter and stunning views). Not wanting to go home.
We enjoyed a very plesant stay in this excellent cottage. We walkes up the Snowdon, have been at Caernarfon Castle and town, had spectacular views to river, beaches and mountains. It was definately the right choice to spend a week in this perfect place. Thanks a lot.
Had a lovely week and the weather has been quite good – been on the beach most days and the sea is not too cold once your in! Recommendations:- 1. Harlech beach for families- nice, gently sloping beach, suitable for children to swim in. 2. Porthdinllaen (near Morfa Nefyn on West coast) – lovely ‘old fishing village’ feeling and nice coastal path. 3. Coed-y-Brennin forest – fantastic place! Great walks, but also good for cycling, orientering, and geocaching. We did this for the first time and the kids loved it. This forest is a real gem.
Climbing Snowdon is a must!! There is a lovely walk along the river at Beddgelert towards Nantor. If you are feeling energetic trythe beddgelert Bikes in Beddgelert forest. The cottage is ideal, we felt very at home here. Mr Watkins (Huw) is a cracking bloke. Very interesting chap! We are coming back next year.
What a wonderful cottage, sleak modern.and very well equiped. We had a great week although the weather was not kind to us but you must expect that at the end of October. A great area for cycling try the cycle path across the railway bridge at Barmouth. The beaches in the area are fab, Toby managed to swim with the aid of a wet suit to keep warm, don`t forget your bucket and spade great for sand castle building.

Absolutely lovely and homely place to stay. Location was beautiful and very scenic. Our two children really enjoyed it and we would like to return again. Excellent value for money and very well equipped for all the family, I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing break from city life and who appreciates the natural beauty of the great outdoors
Awesome place, warm, comfortable, well-equiped. It’s a bit complicated to find it at night but the location is close to the sea (30 mins by car). I highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing weekend with your friends.
