Just came back from a wonderful break here, (November ‘18) as a surprise for my daughters birthday.
Such a gorgeous converted barn with lots of space! It had everything we needed; towels, washing up liquid, etc etc. There was also a lemon cake, Welsh crisps and eggs for us too.
It was lovely and warm with underfloor heating, wood burner and comfy beds with thick duvets!
The view from the huge window at the end was perfect for seeing the amazing sunrises and sunsets and was so peaceful with no streetlights so you could see all the stars.
We took our two daughters for walks on the many surrounding beaches most evenings to watch the sunset and had the beach to ourselves every time! And my husband went up Snowdon which he’s always wanted to do!
We went to Zip world for my daughters birthday, it was an hours drive from the barn but great fun! The toboggan ride was fantastic!
In the village there’s a garage, butchers and two shops which you can walk to in few minutes.
Barmouth was only a short drive with lots of shops, supermarket etc.
We unfortunately couldn’t get the hot tub to heat up any more than lukewarm so couldn’t use it which was a pity but we would still love to come here again as everything else was so perfect. You have everything: Forests, beaches and mountains! We were so lucky with the weather!! Hope to return again one day!

Excellent property and one we would definitely want to come back to. Plenty of space inside and out, private area, lovely views. Lovely open windows to enjoy the outside while being in although the place is very private so people can not see in easily.
Below is our review and the information we like to know when booking a holiday location. Hope it helps…
Heating: We did light the fire on the first night but apart from the lovely look you really don’t need to as internal (underfloor) heating was very efficient and the place was never cold.
Kitchen: Excellent kitchen – well stocked with plenty of oven dishes and trays, excellent frying pan and stainless pans. Large fridge with separate freezer. Dishwasher, Washing machine, Full size oven and hob (both electric). Good knifes and plenty of plates, glasses, cups, knives, forks, etc.. really happy with whole kitchen and having a full size dishwasher was excellent (was like being at home – we normally bring our own fry pan and knifes but did not need to here). Look out for metal oven dishes in space above fridge as easy to miss.
Patio / Garden: All well kept. BBQ on patio (clean inside) but weather was not to kind so never used (you would need to bring/buy charcoal if you wanted to use) – four chairs with table. There was no picnic table next to drive as shown in photos (not that we would have used in November).
Wifi: Worked ok. Was not particularly fast and on Thursday we lost connection for a few hours at a time over the whole day (maybe issue in area) – I was getting between 8 and 15 mbps down (1 or 2 up). Was good enough to use our Netflix in the evenings but patience was required at times. Our phones were all on EE and there was no network 4G or 3G. Had a couple of calls but they were poor quality but found when we were out in the area and the phone said 3G or 4G it was still not working?
General: Supplies are excellent. There was toilet roll, shampoo, body wash, soap, washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, and probably more I can remember or never saw. Even a couple of games under the well sized TV (was also a DVD player (never used)).
There have been a few comment previously about the hot tub and these had made us slightly concerned prior to our visit so thought I would give our experience in detail so other do not worry like we did – our visit was November 2018 and the weather was around 8/9 Degrees C.
Logs – owner left what would be about a bag full. More bags are available from Texaco garage in village or Spar shop opposite. Bags of logs are £4 (cash only) from garage or £3.90 from shop (we found bag from shop was slightly denser wood so burned longer). Kindling wood – owner left enough for couple of lights, bags available from garage at £3 (cash). Firefighters – owner left a few but these are sold in shop £1.50 for box of twelve.
Day one – lit at 5.30am and kept stocked up with logs. At 10:00 we tried tub, was warm enough to sit in but not warm enough to enjoy as bottom (foot area) was cold water. Note: when stirring make sure you get the water from low down. Tried again at 13:00 and it was perfect temperature still kept putting occasional log in to keep burning. Had one last dip at 16:20 and water temp was absolutely perfect. At this point there was two small logs still burning. To this point we had used 3 bags of logs so hot tub would work out at about £12 to get going
Following morning (Day 2) 7:00 water was still luke warm (would not have wanted to get in but probably could have) – re-lit fire at this point and we used three times today. Water temp was if anything a little to hot and at one point I added cold water. Used one bag of logs all day.
Final Day (Day 3) – re-lit at 7.15 and was in tub at 8.45 (was warm enough but not perfect), used a few times today and at one point even had to run cold water as the temp had reached a point that was to hot. Tow logs less than a full bag today.
Conclusion (Hot Tub) – after initial long wait and work tub needed minimal work. I would estimate 1 or 1.5 bags per day. We had four day stay and used for three days. We purchased six bags of logs (£24) and that gave us more than enough use of the tub and at temperatures that were absolutely perfect. Key with the tub is to keep the tops on when your not in and start your fire as early as possible so the water gets a chance to come back up to hot after the initial heating. When you arrive the tub is empty so fill as soon as you take over so water is at ambient temperature ready for when you start the next day o even better light the fire the afternoon you get there, and then top up before bed then the water will take less time to heat the following day.
