Dylans Restaurant Opens in Criccieth

North Wales’ top fish restaurant, Dylans opened the doors to its second establishment in May and it hasn’t disappointed.

It is set in the stunning beach front Morannedd building, an art deco style building designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis; the visionary of Portmeirion Village. It’s a really beautiful experience; wonderfully cooked and presented fresh fish, incredible views through the surrounding floor to ceiling windows all bought together with a modern, rustic yet traditional interior – we love the menu’s!

So what did we have…The Ffrwythau’ R MOR (welsh for Fruit De Mer) was out of this world, the whitebait was the best I’ve ever had, the crab cakes were a real hit and the oysters were so fresh they definitely deserve a mention. The Samphire is amazing – if you haven’t tried it before, this will be a good place to give it a go. All bread is baked daily on the premises and needless to say it is really good.

Puddings are just as good and the panacotta, coffee cheesecake and banana sundae were top of our list.

Drinks? So the elderflower mocktail was delicious and the strawberry and gin cocktail was great. The wine list is good.

In case your not a fish fan, fret not, there is plenty of other foods on offer including burgers, pizza, pasta and a children’s menu.

To add to the charm of the place, if you want to sit outside and its a bit nippy, they have blankets for you to use and if you want to take a bit of the Dylans experience home with you, they have a great selection of own branded products on sale; all presented in gorgeous wooden crates.

I think it is safe to say that getting a table here wont be easy during the summer, so to avoid disappointment, make sure you book.
