The Easter holidays are nearly upon us and if you’ve decided to come to visit us here in beautiful North Wales, then you might be looking for some things to do. Needless to say, there is lots on offer! So to make life that little bit easier, here is a run down on all of our favourite things to do this Easter Holidays 2019 | North Wales…

Easter Holidays 2019 | North Wales

Zip World

This Easter, the Fforest Coaster in Betws Y Coed will be renamed Dragon Fforest. Ffion the dragon and Zippy the Bunny will be taking over the show. You’ll be able to fly along the Dragon Flyer looking for treasure and solve puzzles in the Treetops collecting treats along the way. Lots of activities will be taking place and whatever the weather, it promises to be a great day out.

Adventure Parc Snowdonia

Surf Snowdonia has undergone a major revamp this winter and is reopening as Adventure Parc Snowdonia. Alongside the world famous surfing lagoon, there will now be mountain biking and gorge walking tours of offer. An indoor area brings a parkour trail, ziplines, indoor climbing and high wires. There is also a soft play area for the younger ones. It is a one stop shop for adventure both indoors and outdoors.

Walk The Wales Coast Path

If you want a break from all the adrenaline fuelled activities, then nothing beats a good walk. Getting the younger generation out on a walk can be a feat in itself and so to give you a helping hand, The Wales Coast Path will be launching all sorts of activities for you to do as you walk the path. From finding and catching characters with your phone to going on treasure hunts, there is something to add to your walk and make for a really lovely morning or afternoon out… for both the kids and the adults!

Castles

We have over 600 castles in Wales and so if you want to inject a bit of history into your holiday, then look no further. We have some of the most incredible castles here in North Wales including Caernarfon, Conwy, and Harlech. There will be lots of activities going on at the various sites, including of course Easter Eggs hunts. Have a look on the Cadw website for a list of the events that they are putting on over the Easter break.

Snowdonia Adventure Activities

It might be a bit early for days on the beach in your swimmers, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t put on a wetsuit and have a go at gorge walking or canyoning. Using the river, you either make you way up or down the rivers and along the way you’ll have the opportunity to slide down rocks, jump into pools and zipline over waterfalls – it is lots of fun. Snowdonia Adventure Activities offer the best of both of these activities in the area.

Coed Y Brenin

For a family day out without blowing the bank, Coed Y Brenin is a fantastic place to go. With mountain bike trails for every level, it is a beautiful forest to cycle in. There are walking and running trails on offer to. If you want to take a picnic, there are lots of benches you can sit at or there is a visitor centre where there is hot food available and of course tea and cake. Bikes are available to hire if you haven’t bought your own. You don’t need to pay to use the trails, there is however a charge for parking.

Greenwood Forest Park

Greenwood is for the younger audience and as it is its 25th birthday this year, there is even more than normal taking place. There are lots of rides and activities to do throughout the park, all using nature to inspire many of the things on offer including den building, rowing on the lake and the maze. There are shows to watch, roller coasters to ride on, big slides to slide down and amazing parks to play in… there are also arts and crafts to do if you can find the time to fit it all in.

Slate Mountain

Slate mountain is an underground experience where you’ll be able to see how the mines worked using light projection, reality technology and explosive special effects. It’s a totally unique experience where you can really immerse yourself into what it would have been like back in the day when the men and boys would have spent upto 12 hours a day, 6 days a week working in the dark. This is a great place to visit, especially when the weather isn’t playing ball. There is also one of the Zip World Titan Zip Line, Bounce Below and Zip World Caverns at the same site.

Tea And Cake

No holiday in North Wales is complete without afternoon tea and cake. We are not talking your average shop bought cake, we are talking delicious, beautiful, homemade cakes. Made using recipes passed down, with local ingredients and homegrown fruit – it doesn’t get much better than that. Combined with a delicious hot chocolate with fresh whipped cream, a yummy cappuccino or a pot of tea, it is the perfect afternoon treat. All made more enjoyable if had after a day of outdoor activities. Llew Glas Cafe and Caffi Castell in Harlech offer incredible cakes.

Llandudno

The wonderful seaside resort of Llandudno has so many things to do. From the traditional Victorian pier with all the trappings of a traditional seaside town, there is the Great Orme to walk up and explore, the dry ski centre and toboggan ride, and the cable car. There is also the town itself where you’ll find Alice In Wonderland trails, lots of gift shops and great places to eat and drink.
