There are several hundred jaw-dropping national parks across Europe, but Snowdonia has just been confirmed as the most beautiful of them all.

This may or may not come as a surprise to you (but if you’ve ever been to North Wales or Snowdonia we suspect it won’t).

The Snowdonia National Park has just been confirmed as being the most beautiful national park in the whole of Europe.

Holiday firm Holidu – a Germany-based holiday firm – collated data from Google, scoring Europe’s most popular national parks based on thousands of online reviews. They then put together a ranking of the top ten most popular European national parks.

Snowdonia saw off competition from the likes of beauty spots in Poland, Spain, Norway and Greece. And whilst we can’t claim to have visited every national park in Europe, we can only wholeheartedly agree with the survey’s conclusion.

Snowdonia has been named as the most beautiful national park in Europe

Snowdonia is not only the oldest national park in Wales, but it is also home to some unrivalled landscapes including the highest mountain in Wales – Yr Wyddfa / Snowdon, and the largest lake in Wales, Llyn Tegid / Lake Bala.

The stunning landscapes of the park extend for over 2000 km², offering up mountain ranges, crystal clear lakes, waterfalls, wild forests and plenty of fresh air to its resident wildlife, rural communities and visitors.

Deserted castle ruins, countless sheep and picturesque valleys sit in the lee of those soaring mountains peaks which roll down to a beautiful coastline. It’s a rich and varied landscape where you can be in the mountains and on the beach in the same day.

Would you like to explore the most beautiful national park in Europe? Take a look at these six properties which we think showcase some of the most wonderful landscapes in what is now indisputably Europe’s most beautiful region: the Snowdonia National Park.
