With the choice of things to do in the area, sometimes is hard to know what to do. To help you make the most of your half term, here are our Top 10 | Things To Do This Half Term In Snowdonia:


 

1. VISIT A SPOOKY CASTLE

2. COED Y BRENIN

If you want to get te kids out in the fresh air, COED Y BRENIN is perfect. Mountain biking trails catering for all ages and abilities makes this, in my opinion, one of the best activities the area has to offer. If you don’t have your bikes with you, you can hire on site. There is a fab cafe or if you want to bring your own, plenty of benches for picnics. There is no entry fee to use the tracks, but you may have to pay for parking.


 

3. ZIP WORLD CAVERNS | BOUNCE BELOW | ZIPLINE

This company offers the best adrenalin fuelled adventure. From the longest zip line in the world and fastest in Europe, huge trampolines suspended from the sides of excavated caverns and 180ft off the ground to the underground zip lining and climbing activity…they have it all and they are doing a Halloween twist on it all. 4. PANNING FOR GOLD

SYGUN COPPER MINE in Betws-Y-Coed offers the chance to explore a now dis-used copper mine. There are winding tunnels and large, colourful chambers, magnificent stalactite and stalagmite formations and copper ore veins which contain traces of gold, silver and other precious metals. You can even have a go at panning for gold yourself!


 

5. WALK UP A MOUNTAIN

From the highest mountain, Snowdon to an easier hill like Moelfre, there is something for every age group on offer in the area to give a go. As you are surrounded by some of the worlds most beautiful landscape, you should really try to make the most of it and Autumn is a great time to do it. 6. LLANDUDNO SKI CENTRE

A day out in Llandudno is great as along with the shopping, the Great Orme Tramway you also have the dry ski slope. Whether you decide to ski or snowboard it’s a really great way to spend the morning or afternoon. Visit their website for more details: LLANDUDNO SKI CENTRE


 

7. INDOOR CLIMBING WALLS

If the weather in not on your side this half term, there are a couple of really great climbing walls in the area. THE HARLECH AND ARDUDWY LEISURE CENTRE offers both a bouldering room and a climbing wall with over 400msq of wild climbing surfaces with over hands and slabs. THE BEACON in Caernarfon in the largest climbing wall in North Wales.


 

8. STEAM TRAIN

If going up to the summit of Snowdon is a little daunting by foot, you always have the option of by steam train. The original steam train which was created for the transportation of coal leaves from Porthmadog. 9. KARTING

GYG KARTING and GLASFRYN PARK all offer great days out for the youngsters to give karting a go – GYG is a bit more karting orientated as opposed to Glasfryn where it is just one of many activities available.


 

10. GREENWOOD FOREST PARK

This is always a firm favourite with most youngsters and always offers a really great day out. With lots of rides, parklands, and entertainment, it sees lots of people return year on year. With Halloween on the horizon, expect lots of dressing up and freaky frolics! GREENWOOD FOREST PARK
