Breathtaking views across Cardigan Bay | Hen-Feudy

Location is everything of course and it doesn’t get much better than this. Hen-Feudy is a single story barn conversion in the village of Dyffryn Ardudwy half way between Harlech and Barmouth on the Cambrian coast road. In a slightly elevated position on the outskirts of the village the cottage commands breathtaking views across Cardigan Bay and the mountains of North Wales.

Holiday Cottages North Wales Log Fire

The cottage has a lovely patio area as well as big mature gardens facing out over the coastline. But large glass paneled oak doors in both the kitchen dinner and the lounge ensures that the view can be enjoyed from the inside as well. In the kitchen this sense of light and space is amplified still further by a high vaulted ceiling and modern lighting. Sleek white units are topped with a polished black granite worktop whilst a more traditional welsh dresser and exposed stonewall give character and a sense of place.

The solid oak flooring continues next door into the lounge. Two large 3 seater sofas sit in front of a cast iron log burner. A modern TV sits in the corner of the room but your attention will undoubtedly be drawn to the view outside especially as the sun dips down into the bay towards the end of the day.

Two bedrooms, one double one twin. Again, both are bright and airy and well appointed. The bathroom next door has a contemporary suite complete with powerful shower over a large bath. A small utility room houses the washing machine and small freezer.

Location

Dyffryn is a nice village complete with a small grocery store, butchers, post office and garage. All are within walking distance of the cottage. Same goes for the pub too. Which is handy. Visitors to this part of North Wales are spoilt for choice regards beaches. But it’s difficult to beat the sandy dunes of Bennar Beach in Dyffryn itself.

Jump in the car and the historic town of Harlech is 10minutes drive to the North and the seaside town of Barmouth is 10 minutes to the south. Moelfre and the Rhinog Mountain rage is just behind the cottage and are well worth exploring but Snowdon is about 40 mins to the north. Coed Y Brennin to the west is a mecca for mountain bikers and many more adventure type activities can be enjoyed in the surrounding area.

We had another fabulous week here, the cottage And it’s location is perfect. The dogs love running around the beautiful garden, while we enjoyed the views. So many lovely walking routes to do from the doorstep. Looking forward to our next visit…

We had an amazing stay at the cottage for our weekend break. Great location. Lovely cottage, Anne did a brilliant job with the welcome hamper & cleanliness of the cottage. Taking the current situation of the virus into account, our holiday was not affected in any way, Anne was brilliant in what facilities we had & the surrounding areas that we visited for days out were working as normal. We were very lucky as local lock down occurred a few days after we had left. Will definitely stay at this cottage again. Highly recommended.!

  4. Thank you so much for being flexible and accommodating us during these unprecedented and unpredictable COVID-19 times. We had a great stay, in an immaculate and gorgeous cottage, enabled by you and your dedicated team.

  5. A lovely, bright and spacious cottage with amazing views towards the sea, from where you could watch stunning sunsets, weather permitting. Large sloping garden which our dog would have loved to have been let loose in but he’s a bit of a Houdini so we kept him tethered.
A really comfortable home from home, not much storage for clothing but seeing as there was only the 2 of us this was not an issue. Great WiFi, the code for which can be located beneath the router which is is housed in the utility area.
There did not appear to be anywhere in the village to eat out at night, the 2 cafes are only open during the day, and the pub was no longer serving food. Fab butchers in the Spar shop which also stocked everything we needed.
The nearest beach was a 25 minute walk, and cottage is within easy driving distance to Snowdon and Snowdonia National Park and also the zipwires.
    A great holiday, thank you.
Ps also really appreciated the welcome hamper, in particular the welsh cider!

From the first time we saw the cottage and the stunning sea views we were smitten. Everything was laid out well, clean and calm. The only things that would have improved it all was more info about the place in the handbook, also letting us know about the Wi-Fi which we discovered on day 5! Plus new sofas please! We could not get at all comfortable on them which is a big part of a holiday, relaxing in the evening watching the sunset with those views!

Wow! What an amazing place, we absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful cottage. It was important to us to have a private enclosed garden for the dog, this garden was more than perfect for our little dog. The French doors allowed the outside to become the inside, we had these open most of the time we were there. We were blessed with good weather. We loved exploring all the different areas of the garden. The kids found it magical.Thank you for the lovely welcome basket, we really appreciated it.
The area was stunning with loads of beautiful public footpaths to explore. Not far from the beach, 5mins drive (10-15mins run, 25min walk) and a lovely beach it was too, very quiet. So sad to leave, we would definitely come back.Thank you.
