Farm Holiday Cottage Near Betws Y Coed | Ysgubor-Y-Coed

Recently renovated, this traditional Welsh stone cottage offers high quality accommodation as well as a window (or several) on to farming life in North Wales. You can expect a warm Welsh welcome in what is an idyllic rural location.

The friendly family who run the smallholding here look after piglets, lambs and chickens, and you’ll see the animals enjoying free-range life in the fields around the cottage. There are two other lovely holiday cottages – Hafod-y-Coed and Stabal y Coed – on the same farm, and all three cottages sleep 4 guests each.

An oak front door opens into the open plan ground floor living space of the cottage. It has been renovated to the highest standards using local materials, including Welsh slate flooring throughout which benefits from underfloor heating courtesy of an eco-friendly hydro-electric system.

Exposed oak beams and feature frames around the recessed windows add warmth to what is a light and airy space. A wood burning stove is a focal point in the corner of the living area which has enough comfortable seating for everyone to put their feet up.

A good sized oak dining table – which seats four – links the living area to the kitchen. The kitchen is spacious, bright and modern, and is well equipped including oven, hob, microwave and large fridge as well as a beautiful Welsh dresser.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one double and one twin. The double has an en-suite bathroom, and there is a separate bathroom with bath and shower for the twin room. Oak doors, flooring and exposed beams give the bedrooms a lovely warmth. There are beautiful views of the farm and surrounding countryside from every window.

  1. Harwood Family says:

The cottage was beautiful & in an idyllic location. I particularly loved my morning cuppa sitting on the bedroom window seat looking out over the fields of sheep, chickens & horses. We enjoyed a wonderful week of walking & visiting the local area. As we were there when restaurants were still closed due to Covid, take aways & outdoor eating were however open. We utilised the Indian & pub in nearby Llanwrst, as well as Y Stablau in Betws Y Coed which is about 15 min drive. The kitchen however has everything you need for a home cooked meal. Our 10 year old daughter loved being on the farm & the owners were very helpful. We would definitely stay again if coming to this area & recommend to friends.
