LARGE HOLIDAY COTTAGE WITH HOT TUB NEAR ABERSOCH | NEIGWL

You’ll come into the house through the main front door into an oak floored hall. To your left is one of two sitting rooms complete with big comfy leather sofas, flat screen TV and lovely navy coloured walls. Through this sitting room will bring you to the kitchen diner – the best room in the house! Great colour scheme, fantastic layout, plenty of room for fourteen and floor to ceiling glass doors so you can enjoy those views. Needless to say there is everything you will need to while you are on holiday here including two ovens and two dishwashers. The log burner adds that welcoming and warming touch. Back through to the hallway will bring you to the second sitting room; a similar setup as before but with a different colour scheme.

There  is a family bedroom on the ground floor complete with patio doors and sea views. The room sleeps four with a double bed and a set of bunks. There is an ensuite bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin. Further along the hall is the first of three family shower rooms the house has to offer…. we love the boost buttons for the underfloor heating and radiators!

On the first floor, there is a twin room and three doubles. All have beautiful soft furnishings;  the tonal colours make them warm and inviting. On this floor is a bathroom with a freestanding bath along with a shower room. Both have a WC and washbasin and are very spacious with high quality fittings.

The attic upstairs is home to a twin room and a shower room with WC and washbasin. There is also a small sitting room where you will find a sofa and TV.

There is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble drier at the back of the house.

The lovely patio and front lawn are great places to spend time outside – a real suntrap during the summer months. The games room in the converted garage houses a snooker table, ping pong and air hockey along with a floor to ceiling mural depicting a local shipwreck by a local artist.. every nook and cranny of this place has been thought out. The grand finale is the hot tub. This is an all singing, all dancing addition complete with automated cover – just turn the key and the whole thing lifts up. Turn on the lights (there is a disco mode if you want) and set the bubbles, sprays and everything else this has to offer… oh, have I mention the views yet?!

Location

The house is located in Rhiw which is a small village on the South West tip of the Llyn Peninsula, 15 mins drive from Abersoch and 10 mins from Aberdaron.

In Rhiw itself, there is a manor house (Plas Rhiw) dating back to the 10th Century which is now owned by the National Trust – the organic garden is the only one owned by the National Trust. Porth Ysgo is the local beach which is beautiful and secluded and has a waterfall that cascades onto the beach itself.

Aberdaron, 10 mins away is the nearest place to get all your local supplies and is a lovely coastal village and where you can get a boat over to the famous Bardsey Island. A couple of nice pubs and bakeries make this a lovely place to visit. Abersoch, 15 mins away is where you will find a good selection of cafes, restaurants and shops along with lots of watersports and of course Hell’s Mouth which is the surfing spot of the area. You can also take part in Marine Safari’s and fishing trips

The Llyn Peninsula has a lot on offer with Glaslyn Parc where you can go wakeboarding, karting and bowling along with lots of other family activities. Bear Grylls Survival, paintballing, off road segway are also located on the Peninsula.  The Marina in Pwllheli is a great place for sailing and Plas Glyn Y Weddw is a fab art gallery situated just up from the beach in Llanbedrog.

Snowdonia has so much to offer. There is Portmeirion, the beautiful Italian Village based on the coast which is home to Festival No 6. Snowdon is just over an hour away,  there are many Castles to visit which are classed as world heritage sites. Last but not least are Zip World,  Surf at Surf Snowdonia and the National Whitewater Centre which are all huge attractions to the area.

My family and I stayed here for a weeks holiday in the middle of September. The house was fantastic, the views were breath taking and catered for all the family. We had the play room for the adults, along with a very enjoyable hot tub. The downstairs bedroom catered very well for my grandparents with low mobility. We messaged in advance as we had a 5 month old and Carol ensured we had a cot and high chair on hand. Everywhere was clean, plenty of space and equipment for cleaning/ cooking and excellent quality furniture. Carol and the team would go over and above to meet the guests needs and support if need be. We couldn’t ask for anything more, thank you for reuniting Rowan with his monkey he is a very happy boy. Best wishes with the future!

  4. Sally Shaw says:

What a fantastic house! We’ve just returned from spending a week with family to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The house itself has been beautifully renovated to a high standard with everything that you could possibly need and more beside! So much space that even with a large family gathering there’s always room to spare. My favourite place? Sitting outside just taking in the view. We had the best time in this fantastic place.

One week of pure bliss! To wake up every morning to this unbelievable view (and that is just the kitchen!). We were also blessed with a week of weather that made this the perfect holiday. Neigwl exceeded our expectations and we revelled in every minute! To keep a family ranging from 3 to 92 yrs happy all the time can prove a challenge but Neigwl easily footed the bill. Congratulations all to a job well done, we will recommend you all you our family and friends.

  11. Campbell Logue says:

Super venue for a family gathering. Spectacular views and lots of local walks. Hot tub turned out to be the most used facility, enjoyed by everyone at some point. Games room was an added bonus. Carol was extremely helpful and very welcoming
    Would definitely recommend this cottage.

  12. Mrs Jen Bottomley says:

The cottage was absolutely amazing with so many special touches to make it a memorable weekend and great for a family gathering!
Carol Thomas was so welcoming and took the time to explain a little of the history in the area which was so interesting. She has thought of the guests’ every need – Welcome Pack containing local produce, hand wash, hairdryers, towels for hot tub, candles and so it goes on! Great 70th Birthday for my husband!!
Views were great and everything about the cottage was spotlessly clean. Games room and Hot Tub were the icing on the cake! Thank you Carol & your team!
