The actual cottage is half of the building; the right half and is accessed by a door on the side wall. Downstairs are two sitting rooms and a kitchen. The larger of the sitting rooms benefits from a huge, stone inglenook fireplace with log burner. Two minimal, but beautifully upholstered sofas accompanied by handmade bespoke wooden furniture make this room simple with the colours used bringing warmth. The smaller sitting room, again has a log burner and TV, but is more of a room to retreat to if you want a bit of down time.

The slate floors in the kitchen are a lovely touch which work really well alongside the  white units with oak tops. All new and modern appliances, including a double range oven are here. The large sash window looks out onto the grounds and brings a lot of light to the room. The dining table in here seats six. The kitchen has a great feel to it and is certainly going to be a place to congregate.

Upstairs there are two doubles and a twin. One of the doubles has an ensuite while the other two rooms share a family bathroom. The stairs leading up are beautifully restored floorboards which carry on through to the upstairs hallway. All the rooms are a good size with beautiful soft furnishings and furniture.

The family bathroom located up here has a large walk in shower, tiled throughout with modern fittings and colour scheme is very in-keeping with the rest of the house.

There are lots of activities nearby that will keep you entertained. Being so close to the mountains of Snowdonia there are endless opportunities for walking and climbing. Why not  try all kinds of watersports or fishing on the Menai Straits. Other adventure activities including climbing, coasteering, sailing, karting and surfing which are all available in the area.

We have just returned from a week staying Ficerdy, and what a fabulous stay! The hosts couldnt have been more welcoming and helpful – made a very relaxing stay.
The quality of property was exceptional – very high standard maintained throughout from the amenities to the soft furnishings. The games trunk was brilliant for our 3 year old on a rainy day, and the added bonus of washing machine / tumble dryer and separate utility area just made everything so easy!
Absolutely fantastic property, hosts, area and would definitely return!

  2. Clive Pickton says:

The property is tastefully renovated and furnished, spacious, very clean, enhanced by flowers, a welcome pack of wine and scones and had great Christmas decorations including a huge tree.Beds are comfortable and with two sitting rooms it is quite versatile if some want to watch tv or play cards and others want to do something else of an evening or on a rainy day.The owners have clearly gone to a lot of trouble to make this property attractive and cosy – we enjoyed a week from just after Christmas into New Year when there is still plenty to do in this area even though it is out of season.

Elegant and beautiful, a mix of antique and contemporary, a delight to stay here. One of the cleanest places we have stayed. Lovely welcome pack. We had a great view of buzzards from the windows and some lovely little lambs!
We stayed in Feb for a celebration but I forgot to post feedback at the time.
