Luxury Holiday Cottage with Sea Views in Criccieth | Stabal-Ednyfed

Stabal-Ednyfed is a luxury holiday cottage with sea views in Criccieth, North Wales. Based on a working farm, the cottage has an enormous kitchen, a beautiful lounge and three spacious bedrooms. When you add the location and panoramic views to the mix, the cottage really is the perfect holiday getaway.

There’s an immediate wow factor as you step into the kitchen. An enormous space with high vaulted ceilings and big French doors looking down across the fields towards the sea. Sleek kitchen units sit atop slate floor tiles gently warmed by the under floor heating system whilst a central island with granite work top provides plenty of space for the family to gather at meal times.

The lounge next door is equally spacious but with a softer more relaxed décor. The under floor heating is complimented by a welcoming log burner sitting within a stone inglenook. Plush sofas and soft furnishings sit along side traditional welsh antique furniture and tasteful pictures and ornaments. A TV with Sky is also here.

One of the three bedrooms is on the ground floor; a king sized bed and the adjoining wet room has a large corner bath as well as the open shower. This ground floor layout will naturally work very well for any family members with mobility problems so give grandma and grandad first pick!

Two more bedrooms upstairs. Both superking, one of which can be made into a twin room. Both as perfect as the first. Lovely bedding, exposed oak beams and some really nice decorative touches. These two rooms share a second central bathroom with wc, washbasin and large shower.

This luxury holiday cottage with sea views in Criccieth is that perfect mix of quiet isolation but still just about walking distance to the pub and restaurant. A big patio to the front of the house looks over fields of grazing sheep that roll down to the seaside village of Criccieth just over half a mile away. The patio itself is of course, a perfect venue for alfresco dining or that quiet late evening drink as the sun sets into the sea, but a gentle stroll down into the village provides a really nice choice of restaurants and pubs if you wanted to mingle with the locals and fellow holiday makers. There are a few shops in the village, Idris Café with its freshly baked bread and cakes is a favourite of mine, but if you want a bit more choice a quick 10 minute drive to the East or West along the coast road will bring you to the larger harbour towns of Porthmadog and Pwllheli respectively. Both have a supermarket as well as the usual mix of shops, pubs and more restaurants. If you get bored of the beach there’s lots to do in the area. Paintballing, cross-country Segway rides, animal pet farm, go carting and more are also nearby. Guests should book ahead for larger attractions such as the Zip Wire in Bethesda and the world famous surfing lagoon at Surf Snowdonia. An info pack is sent out automatically to all our guests but drop me an email if you want a copy.

Simply stunning. As soon as you arrive you are taken aback by the house and the views. Lovely touches with the music and welcome hamper. Nice walk down in to Criccieth each morning and evening. We didn’t want to leave and we cannot wait to return.

The wow factor is immediate from the moment you pull into the drive and opening the door to music and flowers the daily grind of work feels a million miles away. The view from the kitchen is amazing and every mod con is in situ. It really is luxury accomodation and we would all love to return.

  4. Lynda says:

We spent a fortnight at this beautiful property with a mix of family and friends joining us over the holiday. We come every year for Festival No 6 and this has been the nicest property we have stayed in so far. Non was very welcoming and friendly and the personal touches, such as the flowers and welcome hamper added to the wow factor. The views are spectacular too! We loved it and will definitely come back.

  5. Sheila Bate says:

Our holiday was a female family holiday to celebrate Mum’s 92nd birthday.Youngest member of our family ,9months.We had a lovely break at Hen Stabal Edynfed. House was great views to die for and a lovely welcome basket. Non was very welcoming and accommodating. I am not making any complaint whatsoever but I am just commenting that we slightly missed having a teapot and a microwave which would have been handy for sterilising Rosie’s bottles. Certainly would have no hesitation in returning.

  6. Anna says:

Fabulous cottage with wonderful views, all mod cons and a welcome basket on arrival! An excellent base for exploring North Wales and all it has to offer. Would love to catch a few more days of sunshine next time so we can make the most of the lovely patio area.

  7. Amanda & Brian says:

Just come back from a wonderful week at hen stabal ednyfed. This is the most amazing house with fantastic views over Cardigan Bay and Criccieth castle. The lovely town is on the doorstep. A lovely warm welcome by Non, the owner, and I enjoyed our walk together in the field with the lambs. All that is left to say is that it was perfect in every way, including the weather and that we will be back soon to this jewel.

  8. Liz and Mark White says:

We had a superb long weekend during March in this lovely property. We had a lot of rain but still managed to get out and walk but it was lovely to come back and light the log burner. Rather than eat out each evening, we stayed in and cooked in the fab kitchen. We loved the underfloor heating and the cosy bedrooms. This place more than lives up to photos and description – a genuine “Home from Home”. Non and her son were very helpful and even sorted the boxing match on Sky sports for our son in law. The view was stunning and we would love to return during warmer months but it looks booked up!

  9. Paula Evans says:

What a fabulous place to stay, with all the mod cons. The views are great from the house and especially when you wake in the morning and look from your bedroom window to the bay and the castle. We were a family of 6 adults, 1 dog and had lots of fun even though the week rained most of the time. Non (the owner) was very accommadating and gave a wonderful greeting on our arrival. We had a nice barbeque on the patio on the one day of sunshine. Highly recommend this cottage for a holiday stay.

  10. Ian F says:

My family of four with a 10 & 2 yr. old in the mix stayed here for a week in early June. The house is fabulous, the view is fantastic and the owner is just across the way and cannot do enough if you need some advice or have any questions. This place is a real gem, you will not have any regrets staying here.

  11. Lesley Ball says:

Hard to convey the delight of arriving at Hen Stable Ednyfed, warm glow of the copper lampshades against the grey slate, the fresh flowers, the soft music all ready and waiting in the warm kitchen with such breath taking views across the hill and out to the bay. An abundance of sheep, cows and other wildlife made for constant entertainment. A stunning property, so very well executed, peaceful, comfortable and luxurious, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

  12. Keely Hart says:

Just spent a fantastic week at this fabulous house, everything you could wish for and views difficult to beat!!! A lovely warm welcome from the owner, Non, who ensured we had everything we needed. Can’t wait to return soon.
