Luxury Holiday Cottage with Sea Views in Criccieth | Stabal-Ednyfed

Stabal-Ednyfed is a luxury holiday cottage with sea views in Criccieth, North Wales. Based on a working farm, the cottage has an enormous kitchen, a beautiful lounge and three spacious bedrooms. When you add the location and panoramic views to the mix, the cottage really is the perfect holiday getaway.

There’s an immediate wow factor as you step into the kitchen. An enormous space with high vaulted ceilings and big French doors looking down across the fields towards the sea. Sleek kitchen units sit atop slate floor tiles gently warmed by the under floor heating system whilst a central island with granite work top provides plenty of space for the family to gather at meal times.

The lounge next door is equally spacious but with a softer more relaxed décor. The under floor heating is complimented by a welcoming log burner sitting within a stone inglenook. Plush sofas and soft furnishings sit along side traditional welsh antique furniture and tasteful pictures and ornaments. A TV with Sky is also here.

One of the three bedrooms is on the ground floor; a king sized bed and the adjoining wet room has a large corner bath as well as the open shower. This ground floor layout will naturally work very well for any family members with mobility problems so give grandma and grandad first pick!

Two more bedrooms upstairs. Both superking, one of which can be made into a twin room. Both as perfect as the first. Lovely bedding, exposed oak beams and some really nice decorative touches. These two rooms share a second central bathroom with wc, washbasin and large shower.

This luxury holiday cottage with sea views in Criccieth is that perfect mix of quiet isolation but still just about walking distance to the pub and restaurant. A big patio to the front of the house looks over fields of grazing sheep that roll down to the seaside village of Criccieth just over half a mile away. The patio itself is of course, a perfect venue for alfresco dining or that quiet late evening drink as the sun sets into the sea, but a gentle stroll down into the village provides a really nice choice of restaurants and pubs if you wanted to mingle with the locals and fellow holiday makers. There are a few shops in the village, Idris Café with its freshly baked bread and cakes is a favourite of mine, but if you want a bit more choice a quick 10 minute drive to the East or West along the coast road will bring you to the larger harbour towns of Porthmadog and Pwllheli respectively. Both have a supermarket as well as the usual mix of shops, pubs and more restaurants. If you get bored of the beach there’s lots to do in the area. Paintballing, cross-country Segway rides, animal pet farm, go carting and more are also nearby. Guests should book ahead for larger attractions such as the Zip Wire in Bethesda and the world famous surfing lagoon at Surf Snowdonia. An info pack is sent out automatically to all our guests but drop me an email if you want a copy.

There’s a slight drip on the mixer tap in the kitchen! That is the only fault my husband mentioned with the entire cottage and in my book this gives this cottage a 5 Star plus rating with its amazing night sky’s, peaceful location and under floor heating. Our dog ‘Riley’ didn’t want to go out! If in the unlikely event the cottage isn’t booked up I will definitely be returning.

  2. Nigel Thomas says:

thanks for the stay at the cottage. Great views. Lovely rooms. hope to book with you again.

  3. Roni & Jo says:

This was an amazing holiday but made even more special with the beautiful cottage we had the pleasure to stay in for a week. The lady owner was so lovely and very accommodating. The view from the patio was stunning overlooking the sea and castle, and our puppy cocker spaniel had the whole garden area to wear himself out. We walked to the local pub most days after walking miles and had the most amazing weather our entire stay. If we could have stayed longer we would have, but will certainly be booking this amazing large beautiful cottage again.

  4. Jane Nash says:

Amazing holiday cottage with stunning views. We loved it’s peaceful location whilst still being close to Criccieth. What was once an old stable block has been transformed into a warm and welcoming cottage. Beautifully decorated and well equipped with a fabulous patio area. Ideal for all ages, we have just spent a lovely week at Stabal Ednyfed, myself and husband, sister and 92 year old Mother in Law. It was lovely to meet Non who was so helpful. Highly recommended and we are looking forward to returning, Jane.

Our party of three loved this snug, beautiful house and its private location. The accommodations were splendid, with comfy beds and modern kitchen and baths. The large patio has a superb view of Tremadog Bay and the lovely pastures to the east. The tidy village of Criccieth, just a short walk away, has everything, great shops, restaurants, a fabulous beach and a wonderful lawn bowling green. If you savor quietude and serenity, this spacious house is for you. I highly recommend Hen Stabal Ednyfed!

  11. Alison says:

A holiday to celebrate my 50th, and it was exactly the right place for a celebration. What a view from the kitchen, which we barely left. Absolutely stunning property, would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

  12. Lisa Higgins says:

Wonderful comfortable house, peaceful location and superb views which made for a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Came for a week’s walking and everywhere seemed within easy reach from this property – the peninsular and Snowdonia area alike. Very clean and beautifully appointed, quality appliances/fitments – beds made for an excellent night’s sleep, showers delightful.
We prefer to cook each evening after a hard days walk and have very healthy appetites – my request would be for a large stock pot to accommodate! Two ovens brilliant with a combination microwave as well.
Liked it that much and so much walking have already booked the property for next year – can’t wait.
