Luxury Two Bedroom Holiday Cottage with Hot Tub and Sea Views | Y-Ddol

Y-Ddol, a luxury two bedroom holiday cottage with hot tub and sea views is a beautiful, modern barn conversion set in-between Harlech and Barmouth making it perfectly located for exploring Snowdonia. Slate floors and minimalist interior give this holiday cottage an ultra modern feel and the floor to ceiling windows with sea views give it that unique and very special point of difference.

Luxury Two Bedroom Holiday Cottage with Hot Tub and Sea Views | Y-Ddol

As you come into the open-plan kitchen, diner and sitting room, the vaulted ceilings and chic furniture give a real sense of space. The underfloor heating and log burner provide warmth, and add to the inviting and cosy feel of the cottage. To the far right is the sitting room area where you’ll find the all important sea views along with the log burner, comfortable sofas and large TV. The oversized lampshades and over hanging lamps are a really great touch as are the splashes of colour from the beautiful vases and soft furnishings.

The warm slate tiles continue through into the kitchen dining area and are beautifully complimented by high gloss white kitchen units. A central island adds character as does the wooden lighting beam above it. The dining table and chairs are all in keeping with the rest of the room with their modern minimalistic design.

From the kitchen, we continue through to the bedroom area. A double and a twin; both beautifully finished and the backlit headboards would not look out of place in a swish boutique hotel. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower and continues with the slate grey theme of the rest of the house.

Outside is just as beautiful as inside! The wood burning hot tub is a fantastic feature and looks out onto the fields and the sea beyond. A spacious patio area with barbecue and seating will certainly be a place you locate to during the warm summer evenings and the hot tub will be used throughout the year; even in those colder winter months!

Wonderful, amazing appearance, one of the best…and that’s just the lemon cake waiting for us on arrival! Absolutely lovely cottage. Beautifully decorated and laid out. The best bit has to be the glass wall which gives wonderful views to the sea. If you’re lucky like we have been each time we’ve stayed, you can see the sun setting on the seas horizon…just spectacular. The shower is pretty damn good as well! We have stayed in Dyffryn for many years and Dioni are without doubt the best cottage provider around.

  3. Mary Robertson says:

A very comfortable, plush and warm cottage facing over fields and then the sea in the distance. Lovely sunsets watched from the terrace or from the lounge through the huge windows. Garden dog-secure and dog-friendly beaches close by. Lovely Welcome Pack on arrival and Gwion swiftly came out to sort out Internet glitch. Didn’t use hot tub as only a short stay but bbq was great. Remember to turn left and then right to get back to main road as driving up the way you came in is a no entry and would involve a precarious exit, as I found out! Would highly recommend Y Ddol and hope to return for a longer visit.

  4. Zoe says:

We have had the best week at the beautiful cottage. With our dog and 2 children.

Highlights were climbing Snowdon, ( do your research about which path to use)
And visiting the Mach loop to see low flying military aircraft.

We are all shattered including the dog and I will recommend this cottage to anyone.

The only slight issue we had was the hot tub only ever got luke warm ? We tried it a few times got the fire really good but it never actually warmed up.

Just returned from a fab holiday at this very comfortable and tastefully decorated cottage, it is in a fab location with lots to do within walking distance. Loved the welcome hamper. Hot tub was great sat out under the stars in it with the family was brilliant.Weather was great. Will defiantly be returning.Loved every minute of our time there.

  6. Richard Hale says:

Just returned from a wonderful stay at Y-DDOL. A perfect location midway between Barmouth & Harlech and about 30 mins walk to the beach although there is a pub en route to help with the journey.
The cottage is perfect especially for dogs or young children with a walled garden accessed from the living room making it very safe & secure. The property was very clean with a welcome hamper waiting for us on arrival which included a beautiful home made lemon cake.
We had lovely weather so were able to use the BBQ most nights and purchased our meat from the butchers in the village which was wonderful.
The location is very tranquil although there are shops (inc. the butchers) within walking distance and larger shops in Barmouth which is only 5 miles away.
My only criticism would be that the quilts on the bed were more suited to a winter break and the property would benefit from sun loungers and an umbrella outside but we had a great time and I’d definitely recommend.

    Visit June 22nd – 29th –
One of the best UK Holidays we have ever had – Helped by the Brilliant weather,Fantastic accommodation and splendid location .
So many plus points – Teaming with great Wildlife including Swallows and Swifts swooping around the Field in front of the cottage and a night time display of Bats to go with the setting sun.
Top Notch beaches and Scenery –
A Visit to nearby Criccieth saw us witness a Pod of Dolphins.
A Brilliant Community center nearby for Tea Coffee and Cake
Plus other Hand Cooked produce run by the lovely Trisha.
We used the meat from the local Butchers attached to the Spa for one of several BBq’s at the cottage and boy was that meat Good – Sensational Lamb Chicken and Gammon.
We had Hot weather every day and our only issue was there was no outdoor Shade after mid Morning -Perhaps a Brolly to go with the outdoor table would be Handy.
Dyffryn Ardudwy is a Hidden Gem for all Walkers ,Beach Goers and Wildlife enthusiasts and Y-Dol is the perfect place to base yourself at –
We Will return ,of that there is no Doubt-
Thanks also for the Lovely Hamper -Superb cake and eggs.

Thank you for a wonderful holiday, the accommodation was spectacular, the garden was a hit with our granddaughter who enjoyed playing outside, there was plenty to do in the area, she loved Harlech Castle, also the local farm and play area where she could feed the animals, well worth the money you could spend the day there. Barmouth was nearby with plenty to do beaches and funfair. We had a great week and the weather was good also.

  9. Bill Price says:

We stayed at this cottage in May 2018 and would echo the comments of the 2 previous guests.Window wall made the whole experience worthwhile and the build standard is high.Anyone who has spent time in this area will appreciate it is extremely handy for the beach and hill walking. One disappointment was the Hot tub was too much of a effort to give it a go as we spent more time out and about.

  10. Lauren Killackey says:

Beautifully presented cottage, wonderfully decorated, clean & comfortable with everything you could need for a home from home stay (only better)! The enclosed garden was brilliant for our little girl to run around & a lovely welcome hamper with fresh eggs & homemade lemon drizzle cake greeted us. Great location, lots to see & do within easy driving distance. Only downside was we couldn’t get the hot tub to get warm despite following the instructions which was a shame. Other than that we had a fantastic stay, I’d 100% recommend & hope to return in the future.

  11. Nick Chalmers says:

Y-Ddol is without doubt one our most favourite places to stay. Comfortable, clean, contemporary and, well, just first class. The window wall is the absolute star of the show, being able to watch the sun set. We love it. The enclosed garden is also so great for dogs. Totally recommended.

  12. Emma Lovelock says:

We stayed at the cottage for my birthday at the end of November. It is absolutely beautiful and completed to a very high standard. Close to both Harlech and Barmouth with fabulous beaches nearby. The owners were friendly and the welcome hamper was a lovely touch.
