Based on the Llyn Peninsula, Yr-Odyn Bach is a one bedroom, chalet style holiday cottage with sea views. The floor to ceiling glass doors make the most of the stunning landscape and create a very tranquil space.

One Bedroom Chalet Style Holiday Cottage With Sea Views | Yr-Odyn Bach

The holiday cottage is set in the village of Aberdesach, 5 miles south of Caernarfon. Aberdesach is a bit of hidden gem and the position of the cottage, right on the coast, makes it very special and the perfect getaway for a holiday by the sea.

The cottage is open plan with a sitting room, kitchenette and dining area. The distressed wooden floorboards add to the seaside feel and naturally, the focus of the room is the huge windows. There is everything you need to cater for you and your holiday partner during your time here.

Back through into the entrance hall at the back of the cottage gives you access to the bedroom and bathroom. The double bedroom, like the living area, benefits from the floor to ceiling windows, giving you some of the best views possible to wake up to. Simply decorated, it will be the perfect place to get your rest and relaxation in.

The bathroom has a massage shower, WC and washbasin.

As mentioned, Aberdesach is a bit of a secret, handed down from generation to generation of only a few groups of holidaymakers. This small stretch of unspoilt coastline is refreshingly free of any commercial exploitation. So you have to promise only to tell your closest friends and family if you come and stay with us here.

As beautiful as the coastline is you should try and explore a bit further afield during your stay. The town of Caernarfon and it’s famous medieval castle is about 15 minutes to the north.

Pwllheli is about 15 minutes to the south where you’ll find the harbour and a great place to go sailing. A big market town on the Llyn Peninsula, there are some restaurants and cafes to enjoy a bite to eat and there are lots of independent gift shops to mooch around and get some mementoes of your holiday.

Plas Glyn-y-Weddw is just up the road towards Abersoch which is an old stately home that has been converted into a fabulous art gallery, gift shop and cafe – a very lovely place to while away an afternoon. From the gallery, you can walk down to the beach and you’ll find a beachfront restaurant which is a great place to have dinner.

Most people head up Snowdon from Llanberis on the far side of the mountain, some 20 minutes away by car, but an assent from the nearer Rhyd-Ddu offers a path less travelled for experienced walkers. The nearby Clynog mountain range is also very popular with keen walkers.

Zip World is 20 minutes inland towards Bangor and 30 minutes south will bring you to Portmeirion Village. as you can see you are well located to enjoy a real mix of different activities and see different things in and around North Wales.

Lovely and comfortable property in a wonderful location, extremely peaceful and private, and the sunsets were spectacular.
With easy access to Snowdon, Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula there was no shortage of great walks whether on beaches, round lakes or up mountains.
First visit to North Wales and a perfect find, will definitely be going back.

We had a wonderful week, experiencing all weathers !
Incredible view , cottage was very clean and well equipped. It was so lovely just sitting in the garden hearing the sea and looking at the mountains. Having the beach on the doorstep was great. Cottage is privately situated – an advantage over some of the other properties. Mr Williams, the owner , was very welcoming. Can”t wait to go back !!

  3. Ruth says:

Stunning location right by the beach and with incredible views. It was lovely to sit in the garden and watch the sunset or sit inside with the doors open and watch the storm clouds blow past! Well equipped for a short break and with an extremely comfortable bed. It was all very clean when we arrived. A very tranquil place in which to relax for a few days.

A wonderful week spent at Yr Odyn Bach. The owners were lovely, contacting us at the beginning and end of our holiday to make sure that our stay was just perfect. Yr Odyn Bach is in a great location – it gives a feeling of remoteness even though you aren’t as everything is on your doorstep. The property is tastefully decorated and contains everything you need for your holiday. The sea view and the sunsets were incredible and it is so quiet – just what you need for a relaxing holiday.

Had a brilliant chill out week. Lovely warm chalet and very comfortable bed which is rare in alot of holiday let’s. Weather could of been better but we still only needed our coats on two half days which is good as it was end of September. If you need to get away to relax then we recommend it. One other thing the pub called the Black Boy in Caernarfon produced a fantastic meal for us, best sea bass I have ever had.
