Things To Do In Abersoch | Snowdonia Information Pack

The front door leads us into a large kitchen diner. Solid oak fitted units house a modern electric oven, dishwasher, and large fridge freezer. A square table and simple country cottage dining chairs is the perfect setting for those romantic home made dinners for two.

To the right of the kitchen, through a ledge and brace door, we enter the ground floor bedroom. An impressive Victorian cast iron bed with accompanying traditional welsh wool woven throw sits on a solid oak floor.

The adjoining en-suite is very spacious and has a bath as well as a separate shower cubicle.

The solid oak floor continues upstairs into the lounge. Quite sensibly the owners have put the lounge upstairs so as to make the most of the view in this wonderful rural location. Here a comfortable two seater sofa faces onto a lovely log burner sitting on a slate hearth. Original exposed beams enhance the welsh country cottage feel surpassed only by the panoramic views outside perhaps.

Guests have the added luxury of a small on site spa cabin with hot tub, sauna and treatment room.

A lovely cottage in an excellent location for exploring the Lleyn Peninsula. Great to have use of the hot tub and sauna after a day out walking. A friendly welcome from the owner who made sure our stay was very enjoyable. We were a bit disappointed to find no welcome pack (a pint of milk would have been useful) or any information on the locality (such as nearest shop, places to eat, etc.). Well kitted out kitchen but would have liked to have had more than two of everything. However, none of this detracted from a great stay in this cosy cottage, set in the most wonderful Welsh countryside.

What a wonderfull holiday! The cottage at Cwt-Dyrus, Llwyndryrus Farm, Y Ffor was just perfekt. Whilst it is called the “dog’s house”, it is anything but this. An upside-down house and extremely well fitted out. I always take a collection of things I need in the kitchen, which are usually missing, but I didn’t need a thing. Also the washing machine proved most usefull. Kathryn and her husband made us most welcome, her shortbreads are scruptious. This is THE place to visit if you need a break from daily business stress. It is extremely quiet, very cosy and after one week we were totally relaxed, but I could have stayed for a month! I do hope we can come back one day. Thank you for a very wonderful holiday.

Very disappointing. I booked this after a lot of looking around for somewhere with either a 3G signal or wifi. I couldn’t connect to the wifi with an iPad or iPhone and only intermittently with a laptop. The best I managed to measure was 0.3 mbps so not much use for the work I needed to do. I think you need to be a little more honest about the quality of the wifi. The cottage is pleasant enough but there are no views as the windows are too low set to be practical. The rear of the cottage is 20 yards from a barn so there is no point in going out of the back door for the best view. The heating was good and there is no need for the wood burner to ever be used. I was also disappointed to find it lacking in the basic items like cutlery and glasses. I know it’s for two people but you don’t expect to find just two. There is also an odd assortment of ‘craft’ items which give the place a slightly tacky feel.

I have just had 3 lovely, cosy, peaceful days in this beautiful cottage, it has everything you need, the owners are very welcoming and homely, nothing is too much trouble for them. The farm is peaceful and the location lovely, a short drive from a beach and little town centre, can’t wait to go back, but next time I’m staying longer x

  8. Katie says:

It was lovely being out in the country and so quiet, we were gutted we didn’t get to go up snowden so we will definitely be returning in the summer. Thank you for an amazing holiday.

We loved it !! Great location for abersoch , Pwllheli , aberdarron ! Beautiful ! Also we had use of a steam room and hot tub in a log cabin on the farm as well which was amazing ! We will be booking again ! Absutely wonderful !

  10. James Freeburn says:

A lovely break away. The cottage was beautiful and had everything to offer including all the mod cons and even had under floor heating which was a very pleasant surprise. Two nights were certainly not enough, what with both the mountains of Snowdonia being so close as well as the picturesque town of Pwllheli on the doorstep. The cottage was ideally located being far enough away from the town but close enough to the small nearby village to nip to the local shop (open really early to late) in the car. The farm and grounds were well kept, inviting and extremely quiet… perfect to escape the stresses of work. The cottage had great attention to detail and was a perfect combination of the traditional period features including stone walls and wood beams with the modern aspects. The owner was friendly but not intrusive and popped by to welcome us with home made biscuits made on the farm. We really loved reading the visitor book filled with positive comment from other guests who shared our love of “The Dog House” cottage. Unfortunately we were too busy relaxing to try the sauna/spa on site, but we are hoping to return again soon and will definitely try it out! Overall a wonderful stay and well worth any drive time especially as the last hour of the journey is through some of the countries best scenery.
Thank you very much for our stay!
