Pet Friendly Holiday Cottage Near Beddgelert | Nanmor

This pet friendly holiday cottage near Beddgelert is a great example of a stone built traditional welsh farmhouse. Located in the stunning Glaslyn valley, the cottage is ideally located for guests wanting to explore both the rugged Snowdonia mountains and the beautiful sandy beaches of North Wales.

Turning off the Beddgelert to Prothmadog road, we continue up a private drive to the front door of Nanmor. On entering, we step left into the lounge. A large inglenook with the original oak lintel houses that all important log fire. Two leather sofas sit on a beautiful welsh slate floor looking out at the fantastic views to the front of the house.

The kitchen is back round to the right. Simple kitchen units with all the essentials included. An electric oven and hob, microwave, large fridge freezer and dishwasher are all there. A second spacious utility room houses a modern washing machine and tumble dryer. There’s also a convenient ground floor bathroom just of the utility room and access to a sunny rear courtyard.

From the kitchen we can continue through into the dining room. Be sure to duck your head, this entrance is quite low. The dining room beyond is a really nice space with white washed stonewalls and stable door leading to the courtyard to the side of the house.

We have to walk back through to the entrance hall to go upstairs. As with a lot of old houses the stairs have quite a narrow tread. Anyone with mobility difficulties should take care when descending and make good use of the sturdy handrail.

The bathroom is immediately to our right at the top of the stairs. It contains a nice white bathroom suite and shower cubicle on a wood laminate floor. Top of the stairs and turn left we come to a long corridor with three bedrooms leading off. One twin room and two double rooms. All the bedrooms have spectacular views over fields of sheep grazing and out towards the famous Glaslyn river.

  1. Lovely cosy cottage, great views and ideally placed for both mountains and beaches. Large enclosed garden which is very pet friendly although smaller dogs might find the odd escape route. There is wifi but understandably limited. The upstairs shower is either hot, or cold, with nothing in between. We really enjoyed our stay and 1 glorious week was not a long enough holiday.

  2. Gary Payne says:

The cottage was amazing, our 2nd trip. The heating was awkward but our fault. The owner arrived in the pouring rain & sorted it in minutes & gave us a bit of history on the place. It was one of the best holiday cottages we have had and we have had so far to date 54.
It had a magical feel whatever the weather. However, Dioni is one of the very best holiday cottage companies I’ve found & therefore I’m not surprised it was perfect.

  3. Nicola says:

Nanmor was a quirky farmhouse set up on a hill with stunning views. Upon arrival we welcomed the hamper (wine, Welsh cakes and flowers) and were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of amenities. Plenty to do near and far. Our best trip was on the Welsh highland railway from Porthmadog to Caernarfon which our puppy also enjoyed. Zipworld and Forest Coaster were also enjoyed by us all. Lovely holiday had by us all.

  4. The Newby family says:

A lovely peaceful and well equipped cottage, plenty big enough for the two of us. The bed was really comfortable, giving excellent nights’ of sleep. You will need the slow-ish WiFi to check waste collection arrangements as the information pack is a bit basic but the welcome gifts on arrival were a lovely touch. Would definitely book again.
