As you enter this typical two up two down stone country cottage the ground floor is split into a kitchen diner on your right and a spacious lounge on your left. The kitchen includes all the facilities you would expect including a dishwasher, large fridge freezer and washing machine. Pastel painted fitted units are topped with a rich solid wood worktop. This is mirrored by the reclaimed dining table with it’s newly polished oak top and matching hand made bench seat.

A natural slate floor, gently warmed by underfloor heating, continues through into the lounge. The emphasis on natural materials continues with an exposed stone inglenook with log burner. The large flat screen smart TV is a welcome nod to modern conveniences.

Upstairs we have one double and one twin room. The double room is surprisingly spacious for a country cottage. High vaulted ceilings helping to add to the sense of space. Adjacent dormer windows look out over farm fields and the mountains to the rear of the house and a beautiful church to the front. The twin room on the other side of the cottage is a little smaller but nicely furnished with a dark wood chest of drawers and matching beds. Small details like the ledge and brace doors, white washed stone wall and slate window sills accentuate the cozyness of the bedrooms

The adjoining bathroom has a large corner shower, wc and washbasin.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at the cottage. My wife and I loved the tranquility of the cottage in the lane. It was a joy to wake to sunny mornings and the views over the fields, the whistle of the nearby branch line and the shadows of the churchyard opposite – which is really interesting – particularly the benefactor boards in the porch. The nearby beaches are terrific; broad, sandy and uncrowded. We were blessed with beautiful weather and the cottage was well-placed for excursions into the Llyn Peninsula, Snowdonia and the busy harbour town of Porthmadog. We enjoyed Harlech, Criccieth and Abersoch particularly. One of the best holiday cottages we’ve taken. Thanks Ben.

We have just returned home having spent a great week in Tyn-Llyn a lovely cottage in an excellent location.
Our two energetic Springer Spaniels loved the local dunes and beaches and the good size cottage garden which was safe and secure.

Lovely cottage, very quiet and peaceful with perfect garden for chilling. As weather was hot, cottage was cool. Good location and butcher shop recommended

  5. We have just spent a very relaxing week in this beautiful cottage. The cottage was cosy and very inviting and we felt at home as soon as we arrived. Our dog Mia had exclusive use of the rug in front of the log burner all week. Ben greeted us with lovely goodies on arrival including wine, kettle chips & Welsh Cakes etc and made us feel very welcome. The garden was safe and secure for both our black Labrador and daughter to play in and explore. Our daughter particularly enjoyed cleaning and sorting her shells and arranging them on the patio wall out the back. The 20 minute walk to the beach was a pleasant one and safe as it uses a no-through road for the majority of the walk. There is a great children’s play area around the corner and the cottage is a short walk to the local post office and spar (with a great butchers located inside). We used the cottage as a base to explore the area, travelling north and south along the coast road visiting the little villages and towns. We would definitely recommend this cottage and would love to visit again soon!

Fantastic stay at Tyn-Llan this week. Cosy, well-equipped, characterful & comfortable cottage. Husband, dog & I enjoyed a peaceful week – nice walks on the beach / in the mountains during the day, followed by pub dinners & curling up in front of the woodburner.
We took the Welsh Highland Railway to Beddgelert for a beautiful day out and walked across Barmouth Bridge for stunning views.
Despite the Beast from the East’ & Storm Emma – we were warm & comfy in the cottage & enjoyed our week. Ben, the owner, was available via text/phone when we needed him & was extremely helpful, thank you very much!

  9. The Kings & Archie (the dog) says:

Have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful cottage in an ideal spot. Loved looking out towards the mountains at the back and such a pretty church at the front. Perfect setting for a quiet family holiday. Loved making the fire and the dog enjoyed the underfloor heating! Lovely and quiet, but shops and pubs easily accessible. The beach and sand dunes at the end of the road are fabulous, our dog did not want to leave. Mind you, neither did we. Thanks to Louise and Ben for ensuring we had a lovely stay. Hoping to return soon.

  10. Janet says:

  11. Rachel Bennett says:

Cottage is an absolute gem. Beautifully renovated in a lovely peaceful location. Loved it. Happy to find reasonable dog friendly eating places nearby notably The Last Inn and Davy Jones Locker in Barmouth, although lots of the cafes and shops seem to welcome dogs, and The Victoria Inn in Llanbedr. The beach is also fab for walks. We really didn’t want to leave.

Absolute gem of a cottage, we loved it! Beautifully renovated and in a lovely peaceful location. We really didn’t want to leave. Also happy to find some reasonable, dog-friendly eateries nearby, notably The Last Inn and Davy Jones Locker in Barmouth and The Victoria Inn in Llanbedr although lots of the cafes in Barmouth welcomed dogs and the local beach was fab for walks. The only slight negative was the sofas are rather past their prime with a couple of the seats collapsed and a bit uncomfortable, otherwise perfect.
