Bryn Awel is a romantic one bedroom holiday cottage with panoramic views. Set on the slopes of a beautiful valley near Bala, the perfect holiday hideaway.
The cottage itself is a cute traditional stone building, painted white giving it that quaint feel. Whilst it is set in its own private grounds, the land beyond the cottage boundaries is expansive and simply breathtaking. A very unique setting and totally romantic!
It’s a simple layout where the upstairs is taken up entirely by the bedroom – beautiful white washed walls, exposed beams and original wooden floor boards combined with simple and traditional furniture – a large brass bed takes centre stage with oak drawers etc. It’s a very light and airy room so will certainly give you the environment to relax and sleep . There is no bathroom up here – this is found downstairs along with the sitting room and kitchen.
Downstairs, the sitting room is just what you would want and expect from a cosy romantic cottage. A log burner set in a large inglenook fireplace along with really inviting sofas that you can sit back and take in the incredible views that the sitting room windows offer. A round table and chairs are also here so you can enjoy your breakfast and dinner in this lovely room.
The galley kitchen is a simple layout but everything you will need is there for cooking during your stay – cream units with marble tops give it a lovely country feel. There is a washer dryer here too. The bathroom is also located off the sitting room with a shower, loo and hand basin.

The cottage is remotely set but only two minutes from Llandrillo village which is found between Bala and Corwen. While you have your own outside space at the cottage with a lovely garden and small patio area, it is the breathtaking panoramic views which are the showstopper here – it really does need to have to be seen to be believed.
In terms of what is around you. Bala is 10 minutes drive where you will find a beautiful old market town with cafes, restaurants and pubs along with local independent shops – there is a Co-Op here where you’ll be able to get your supplies. Llyn Tegid, of course, is here and you’ll have a huge choice of activities to do including sailing, kayaking, SUP. 5 minutes down the road you will also find the National White Water Centre. The Bala lake railway is also very popular.
15 minutes the other way is Corwen where you’ll find Rhug Farm – an award-winning farm shop and restaurant which is certainly worth visiting if you are nearby. A further 15 minutes on will take you to Llangollen, which is a larger market town famed for its aqueduct – again lots of great places to eat and shops to mooch around.
From climbing Snowdon, watersports on the lakes to visiting castles and swimming in the sea, Surf Snowdonia and Zip World, there is so much to do in the area, you won’t be bored.
