3-Ty-Gwyn is a cute stone cottage within the Morfa Harlech Nature Reserve. Colourful and homely, it also had the advantage of some great views of the estuary and mountains. Within easy distance of Harlech and Porthmadog, it is a lovely place to relax and get away from it all.
With the added comfort of a wood burner and the plush sofas, the sitting room is certainly a place you will all come together at the end of a hard day in the mountains for a bit of rest and relaxation. Directly opposite is a separate dining room; ideal for enjoying a home cooked evening meal with your friends or family.
The bright and colourful kitchen is delightful and won’t fail to brighten up your spirits when making the morning coffee. With all the mod cons you would expect, there is everything you need and a separate utility room off the kitchen is ideal for managing the washing from days on the beach, in the mountains etc.
Upstairs are two double bedrooms and one single. Again, keeping in line with the rest of the house, each one comfortable, bright and airy with distressed wooden floorboards, adding to the country cottage feel. The family bathroom is also on this floor, which is home to a shower over bath arrangement, WC and washbasin – all modern with a slate tiled floor.

3-Ty-Gwyn is a stone’s throw away from direct views of the famous Portmeirion; very special indeed. A 5 minute drive to the south will bring you to Harlech which is home to the Castle, an incredible beach and a good selection of cafes, restaurants and gift shops. Porthmadog, a bigger town is 10 mins north.
This part of Snowdonia is a great place to stay for exploring other parts of the area; the Llyn Peninsula is only 30 mins away heading west and 30 – 40 mins east will take you into the heart of the mountains where there are countless things to do and beautiful towns to visit.
Alongside the traditional past times of walking, climbing and beach days that the area is famous for, the last few years have seen the introduction to some of the world’s best adventure activities including Zipworld and Surf Snowdonia. The mountain biking options are amazing with the award winning trails at Coed Y Brenin within an hours drive.
A plethora of culture and history is on your doorstep with castles, Portmeirion Village, art galleries, gardens and lots of local crafts. There really is something for everyone.

Lovely cottage, nicely presented and had all that we needed including a pretty little garden which was great for the children to play in when we were not strolling along the water’s edge, at low tide, looking at the wildlife.
Nice well kept cottage. Picturesque and quiet location.
