A three bedroom cottage with outstanding sea views, Ffynnon Rhiw will have your heart before you even walk through the door. Pet friendly, it comes with a magnificently large, private garden.
Perched high on a clifftop looking out over Hells Mouth (or, to give it its Welsh name, Porth Neigwl), this is the ideal escape for surfers, sandcastlers, sea paddlers and swimmers, and indeed anyone who loves the joys of a huge sandy beach. You’re a short drive from Abersoch and Aberdaron, and close to the Welsh Coastal Path. So it’s great for walkers too.
This three bedroom cottage with outstanding sea views has been lovingly renovated to make the most of its rustic roots, with whitewashed stone walls, exposed beams and slate floors. Expect lots of interesting nooks and book-filled crannies. It has bags of guts and charm and is stylishly presented.
A Rayburn in the kitchen supplies radiators around the house. You’ll get a supply of wood and eco-coal for your stay.
Downstairs there is a big, spacious and impressively equipped kitchen, with a separate oven and hob if you prefer not to cook on the Rayburn (though nothing beats a slow cooked casserole on the ‘burn after a day at the beach). A large oak dining table seats a comfortable 6.
Walk through to the lovely bright sitting room with more exposed stonework and beams, and comfy sofas arranged around a powerful woodburner. There are blankets and throws to snuggle up in – this is perfect territory for an A-grade chill.
There are three bedrooms in all, one king size, one double and one twin, and a family bathroom with roll-top bath and walk in shower. It’s a beauty of a house, in a real showstopper location. We love it.

The Llŷn is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and one of Britain’s oldest pilgrimage routes. On both counts it’s not hard to see why.
An exceptional and dramatic shoreline of coves, cliffs, bays, secret sandy beaches, offshore islands and stacks, wild beating waves – it’s a picture of what an idyllic coastal wilderness might look like. In paradise. Or an Arthurian legend.
The location of our three bedroom cottage with outstanding sea views is suitably epic and magnificent. It faces south-east, looking out across the full sweep of Porth Neigwl / Hell’s Mouth, with the Irish Sea beyond. The mountains of Snowdonia to your rear provide a fitting backdrop. It is quiet and private, and a wonderful place to sit back and drink in the power of time and tide. The starry nights here are stunning.
The cottage is in a protected Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounded by heathland and historic footpaths, many of which follow the old pilgrimage routes for people making their way to Bardsey Island (the legendary island of twenty thousand saints). You’re a stone’s – or maybe a hatchet’s – throw from a Neolithic axe factory and the remains of a Bronze Age settlement. So there’s plenty to explore from the front door.
The grounds of the cottage border National Trust land, leading all the way down to the beach. There’s around an acre of garden, and you’re right on the Wales Coastal path, which is a fantastic way to explore. It stretches for 95 miles all the way around the coast of the Llŷn, and beyond, around the whole of the coast of Wales.
The seaside town of Pwllheli with its supermarkets, quaint shops and amenities is 30 minutes drive away. You’ll find plenty of great local pubs and restaurants in nearby Aberdaron and Llanbedrog, and Abersoch is also close by with its surf shops, watersports centre, cafes and restaurants.
The Llŷn’s sandy beaches and sheltered bays are brilliant playgrounds for all sorts of watersports including kitesurfing, windsurfing, sailing, SUPing and surfing – but they’re also great for the more traditional seaside pursuits of paddling, swimming, rock pooling and sandcastling. Oh, and they’re particularly good for ice-cream licking too.
A three bedroom cottage with outstanding sea views, Ffynnon Rhiw is the ideal spot for families, couples or a group of friends.
