This three bedroom holiday cottage in rural North Wales is a beautifully converted old farm building with stunning views. Tylluan-Wen is the biggest of three holiday cottages set in rural Snowdonia in between Bala and Betws Y Coed. Sleeping six, the stone holiday cottage is spacious with luxurious interiors.
The main room is an open plan kitchen-diner and sitting room. As with all three cottages, there is a great use of colour moving away from neutral tones and it works so well giving a bright and cheerful vibe. French doors lead out to its own outside space which offers great views of the Berwyn mountains beyond.
One of the great aspects of this property is the unusual use of space which gives two of the three bedrooms a feel of being mini apartments. Downstairs, there is a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with a shower, WC and washbasin. Solid oak bed, plush carpets and textured focus wall work together to produce a very special room.
Upstairs are two more bedrooms, a twin and a double. The double up here has its own dressing room and ensuite shower room – this is the room that you will have to pull straws for I am sure! The twin room is next to the family bathroom which has both a free standing bath and separate shower. Again the bedrooms continue with the high quality and luxe feel.

This three bedroom holiday cottage in rural North Wales has its own private patio area complete with outdoor sofas and chairs to sit and take in the incredible scenery around you. There is also access to communal areas and of course views of the valley beyond – its rural setting comes into its own on a summers evening sitting out and having a drink whilst enjoying those uninterrupted views.
There is a fantastic games room that is shared with the other two cottages – a full size pool table, table tennis and darts – separate to the cottage itself, it’s a great place for any younger members of the group to hang out.
The cottage is set in between two of the larger Snowdonia towns, Betws Y Coed and Bala. Betws Y coed, the larger of the two towns is home to the famous Swallow Falls and Fairy Glen – a visit to Betws is not complete without having seen these. A great selection of cafes, restaurants, and shops make it a great place to spend the day as there is plenty to do. Gwydir forest, on the outskirts, is a great place for mountain biking and of course, the walks here are numerous.
Bala, 15 mins south is another market town where there is more of a focus on water sports. Llyn Tegid is where you can sail, kayak and windsurf. Further down the road is the famous National White Water Centre – with its dam controlled rapids, it’s the go to place in the UK to have a go at white water rafting. Again, a lot of walks in the area and if you want to have a ride on a steam train, the Bala Lake railway will take you around Llyn Tegid and into the mountains.
Surf Snowdonia, Zip World and Portmeirion Village are all within an hours drive for you. You are very much on the doorstep to enjoy everything Snowdonia has to offer.
