Traditional Farmhouse Accommodation in Snowdonia | Bryn-Weirglodd

Traditional farmhouse accommodation in one of the most beautiful valleys in Snowdonia. Bryn-Weirglodd offers a great combination of 5 star self catering set in a faultless tranquil location. Beautifully appointed bedrooms and comfortable living areas compliment a setting where walkers can head off straight from the front door whist beach lovers only have a short 10 minute drive down to the seaside villages of Criccieth or Porthmadog.

5 Star traditional farmhouse accommodation in one of the most beautiful valleys in Snowdonia

The large living room offers the best views of the surrounding area perhaps. The ubiquitous welsh mountain sheep graze in the foreground whilst the rolling hills of the valley frame your view down to the coast. Plenty of space and seating for family get together and a lovely log fire to warm you in the evenings.

Next door we have a traditional country kitchen diner. Lots of modern appliances including a washing machine and a large fridge freezer as well as a handsome oak dining table and chairs. Again plenty of space and seating for the whole family. Finally on the ground floor we have a large twin bedroom. Actually, I’m wrong, this room has the best view from the large patio doors that lead out onto the garden. The en-suite bathroom in here is fully accessible and suitable for wheelchair users – in fact this holiday cottage is ideal if anyone in your party has a disability or any mobility issues. Which is great news as we don’t have enough properties which are wheelchair friendly.

Upstairs we have three more bedrooms. Two double rooms and one twin room. No, these bedrooms have the best view. I think. You tell me when you get there. There’s a nice family bathroom up here with a powerful modern shower over a bath.

Keen walkers may already be familiar with Cwmysdradllyn and Cwm Pennant and they will bear testament to the fact that there really is no exaggeration when people describe these valleys as the most beautiful in Wales. An un-spoilt wilderness of towering peaks interweaved by crystal clear rivers and streams.

As well as the mountains of Snowdonia the farmhouse is also ideally suited to explore the seaside villages of the Llyn Peninsula. Criccieth, 3 miles away, is one of those hidden gems of the North Wales coastline. It has, of course, its world famous ‘Cadwaledrs’ ice cream and the usual cafés and fish and chip shops but, for a small village, it boast’s some really quite nice restaurants. The ever popular market town of Pwllheli and fashionable Abersoch are a little further along the coast. The nearest town with supermarket etc is Porthmadog, some 5 miles away. Popular activities in the area include fishing, golf and pony trekking as well as the more extreme mountain biking, white water rafting and gorge walking.

Absolutely beautiful farmhouse. Stunning views. The owner lovely and the welcome pack amazing. Could not fault it. Lots of toys etc for the children and well equipped. A very lovely holiday enjoyed by all. We were sad to have to leave. I have already recommended to friends and family.

  2. L Graham says:

The house was lovely and spacious and well equipped. Very comfortable. The location was also great with plenty to do in area and lovely walks to do from the house itself.

    1. Rob Sickelmore says:

Great quiet location with amazing views. The house is spacious, modern and had everything we needed. We would definitely return.

  3. Rachel says:

A beautiful holiday home in the most perfect of settings. Enjoyed a 5 night autumn stay while visiting family in nearby Porthmadog. One member of our party is a wheelchair user and the facilities were perfect, but did not detract from the house for anyone who isn’t disabled.

The house was lovely and warm and we also made full use of the log burner too. The old mill just at the back of the house was great for exploring with the kids- and we also walked up to the lake which was a lovely walk. We visited Porthmadog, Criccieth, Pwllheli and Caernarfon while there- the first 2 only 10-15 minutes away, and the latter no more than half an hour. The castle at Caernarfon was lovely with the poppies exhibition, and we popped to Fron Goch garden centre nearby for a nice lunch. Would also recommend Dylans in Criccieth where we also enjoyed a walk along the front.

Most of all, though, we loved being in the cottage enjoying the fabulous views from every window and left relaxed and rested- can’t wait to find a time to stay again!

WOW !We really did not know what to expect we arrived late on friday night, opened up the cottage , we all ran around shouting look at this as we opened a door to find yet another amazing room .The whole house was perfect a welcome pack and note off the owner everything we needed had been catered for, We had a great time exploring the old slate mine and the llyn ystradllyn at end of the road !! However there is one serious drawback that really upset us all ?????? We couldn’t stay any longer and had to return home on sunday !!!!! But we shall definately be coming back !!! Thank you very much

  5. Melanie, Norfolk says:

What a wonderful week in the most wonderful place. This cottage had everything anyone could need and could not fault a thing. The owner was friendly, helpful and went beyond to make our stay fantastic. We had great weather, climbed Snowden, took the car on black rock sands and went on the festiniogg railway. There were 4 adults, 4 teenage girls and our little girl who celebrated her 1st birthday here. Everyone of us enjoyed everything. Would highly recommend to anyone, it’s truly special.

  6. Thompson/Carter says:

What a lovely place for our family holiday. Really comfortable with everything we needed. Excellent downstairs facilities for the less mobile and lots of toys to keep the little ones happy and really comfortable beds. Spectacular views and very peaceful. Had lovely days out at Criccieth, Black Rock Sands, steam train to Bedgellert and to the top of Snowdon, exploring round the lake and the slate mill ruin. Would not hesitate to recommend to others and would definately like to return. Thank you.

  7. Chris & Lou says:

Great property & location in every respect – secluded, but not isolated, with many places in the Snowdonia area within easy reach and just the sound of the sheep in the nearby fields to wake up to in the morning!
We also appreciated the welcome pack on arrival and the house was very well equipped and spotlessly clean.
Ideal base for either a quiet, relaxing break, visiting the numerous attractions in the area or for keen walkers wanting to get out & about in the very picturesque countryside

  8. Elena says:

The house is fantastic, in a lovely, quiet location. No problems at all getting to the property or when we were there. The host was lovely as well, and we loved the welcome hamper. Would definitely come back again!!!

  9. Jan Ensum says:

Such a clear, informative and easy booking process, and the “cottage” – so well equipped and comfortable, and unbeatable position and views; no sound of traffic – only sheep and birds (and wind in the tree sometimes!)but easy enough to get to the shops and a whole range of the best of Snowdonia – both sea and mountains. And Medewan a perfect combination of welcome and helpfulness, yet never intrusive. In fact, unbeatable all round!

  10. John says:

Stayed at this house over Xmas 2015 two families with 2 kids of 5 years and was perfect. The views are amazing from the farmhouse which includes watching the daily routine if the sheep. The owners were very welcoming and helpful for attractions. The house itself is very clean and has everything you need. Would recommend a lazy afternoon walk to the lake nearby whilst also visiting the old slate mill that can be seen from the kitchen window. We are thinking of booking a return trip in the summer.

  11. Cassie Ogden says:

We had such a lovely stay in this lovely farmhouse. The owners left us a very indulgent hamper which was delicious! The house itself is furnished to a very high and comfortable standard with lots of appliances and extras which just makes your stay that extra bit comfortable! The location itself was a real bonus! Totally tranquil and relaxing with only the sound of sheep and cows to be heard! Another bonus is the accessibility of this accomodation with ramps, wide doors, an accessible wet room and spacious ground floor bedroom. I will defintely be returning at some point as this accessible farmhouse makes it possible for me to arrange a large family get away where these facilities would be utilised. Many thanks to the owners, we will be back!

  12. Fatima says:

A really lovely property, with everything we needed, which was spacious, well equipped, had great bathroom facilities, and surrounded by sheep (a welcome addition for the kids). We loved the generous ‘welcome pack’, whose contents were devoured within the first few days. The property was in a very good location, with access to nearby amenities (Tescos/Lidl). Would highly recommend to families with young children/elderly requiring a downstairs bedroom/bathroom facilities.
