Traditional Farmhouse Accommodation in Snowdonia | Bryn-Weirglodd

Traditional farmhouse accommodation in one of the most beautiful valleys in Snowdonia. Bryn-Weirglodd offers a great combination of 5 star self catering set in a faultless tranquil location. Beautifully appointed bedrooms and comfortable living areas compliment a setting where walkers can head off straight from the front door whist beach lovers only have a short 10 minute drive down to the seaside villages of Criccieth or Porthmadog.

5 Star traditional farmhouse accommodation in one of the most beautiful valleys in Snowdonia

The large living room offers the best views of the surrounding area perhaps. The ubiquitous welsh mountain sheep graze in the foreground whilst the rolling hills of the valley frame your view down to the coast. Plenty of space and seating for family get together and a lovely log fire to warm you in the evenings.

Next door we have a traditional country kitchen diner. Lots of modern appliances including a washing machine and a large fridge freezer as well as a handsome oak dining table and chairs. Again plenty of space and seating for the whole family. Finally on the ground floor we have a large twin bedroom. Actually, I’m wrong, this room has the best view from the large patio doors that lead out onto the garden. The en-suite bathroom in here is fully accessible and suitable for wheelchair users – in fact this holiday cottage is ideal if anyone in your party has a disability or any mobility issues. Which is great news as we don’t have enough properties which are wheelchair friendly.

Upstairs we have three more bedrooms. Two double rooms and one twin room. No, these bedrooms have the best view. I think. You tell me when you get there. There’s a nice family bathroom up here with a powerful modern shower over a bath.

Keen walkers may already be familiar with Cwmysdradllyn and Cwm Pennant and they will bear testament to the fact that there really is no exaggeration when people describe these valleys as the most beautiful in Wales. An un-spoilt wilderness of towering peaks interweaved by crystal clear rivers and streams.

As well as the mountains of Snowdonia the farmhouse is also ideally suited to explore the seaside villages of the Llyn Peninsula. Criccieth, 3 miles away, is one of those hidden gems of the North Wales coastline. It has, of course, its world famous ‘Cadwaledrs’ ice cream and the usual cafés and fish and chip shops but, for a small village, it boast’s some really quite nice restaurants. The ever popular market town of Pwllheli and fashionable Abersoch are a little further along the coast. The nearest town with supermarket etc is Porthmadog, some 5 miles away. Popular activities in the area include fishing, golf and pony trekking as well as the more extreme mountain biking, white water rafting and gorge walking.

Great stay in a lovely property. Our group had the most amazing weekend away. The weather was glorious and allowed us to enjoy all the attractions and beaches close by. The house itself is beautifully furnished and impeccably clean. The kitchen in particular has everything you could wish for and more. We would love to come back again – thank you.

    1. David Rowley says:

Excellent house, immaculately maintained and cleaned. Well equipped kitchen. Superb location seemingly remote but only 15 minutes to Porthmadog. Plenty of walking and cycling routes from the house. The accommodation was ideal for our family (Grandparents, son, daughter in law and 1 year old and 1 year old). Downstairs bedroom and shower room for oldies meant quiet nights for us. The lounge is enormous giving plenty of room for running around and for playing with the large boxes of Lego and other toys.

Beautiful week spent in your comfortable house. Well appointed, well supplied, generous welcoming pack. Lovely position. We had a small problem which was dealt with by the owners promptly, and efficiently. Our only small fault would be a nest of coffee tables would be an advantage.

We would have no problem re-booking this house.

  3. Stephanie Davidson says:

What a lovely house! Comfy beds, big soft plentiful towels, thoughtfully and well equipped kitchen, lovely warm log burner with logs, scenic rural views on all sides – we could not have asked for more.
This well maintained and spacious house is one of the best self catering options we’ve ever stayed in. Medwen’s friendly welcome and the amazing arrival pack were much appreciated.
Having never really visited Snowdonia before we were bowled over by the beautiful scenery, friendly people and wealth of amenity. We are now hooked and hope to return soon!

Lovely house in a beautiful location. We loved our week’s stay.

  5. Chris Rowse says:

Our second stay at Bryn-Weirglodd and every bit as enjoyable as the first. House immaculately clean on arrival and everything needed for a comfortable stay is provided, including a substantial welcome pack which was very much appreciated! Peaceful location, but only a short 15 min drive to Porthmadog and well placed for exploring the whole of Snowdonia. Friendly & helpful owners. We would highly recommend this property as a comfortable home-from-home for exploring North wales & Snowdonia.

  6. Majid says:

Have stayed in self-catering 3 times a year for 15 years now and must say this ranks amongst the top quality properties. Great location (very private and secluded while only a few minutes drive back to a main road), nearby ruin is great fun for kids, very high quality interior, spacious and comfortable, helpful and accommodating owners. Would definitely recommend as well as re-book myself.
Only suggestions might be: a lock on the downstairs disabled toilet would be less stressful; and the pressure on the water system perhaps needs increased to cope with showering while using other taps. But honestly, it is such a tasteful, clean, well fitted property that accommodates 8 people very comfortably, I have no real complaints! Very reasonably priced too.

  7. Jo Wise says:

We had an amazing stay in this lovely, well equipped cottage. The gift basket of lovely goodies was an additional, much appreciated touch. The cottage is comfortable and surrounded by stunning valleys and mountain views. We enjoyed a walk to discover the abandoned Slate Mine too. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a break in Snowdonia.

  8. Susan Warren says:

This was a lovely friendly house with all amenities. We have stayed in quite a few holiday rentals and this was one of the best.It has terrific views, space for everything and a lovely kitchen which gets the morning sun.The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms spacious. It’s location is gorgeous with short walks and longer ones too on the doorstep. We were sorry to leave.

  9. Dave & Yvonne Lowe says:

We enjoyed our week stay in your very well equipped farmhouse – the property really had everything – and the views were tremendous (the mini heatwave we had was an added bonus).
We had some great hikes starting on our doorstep and also discovered the great beaches and coastal paths on the Lleyn peninsular – Whistling Sands (Porthor) , Llanbedrog and Aberdaron.
A nice touch was your welcome pack of local produce.
We would recommend this property wholeheartedly and look forward to a return visit.
    kind regards Dave & Yvonne

The house was very clean and spacious. Everything anyone could ask for. Would definitely recommend this house to everyone.

  11. Annette says:

The cottage was absolutely gorgeous with amazing views, fully equipped kitchen with a welcome hamper. Lots of toys, books and board games for the kids. We will definitely be booking another Dioni cottage. We didn’t want to leave, thanks for a great stay!

  12. P says:

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Bryn Weirglodd. A comfortable, beautifully equipped house in a beautiful location. The added bonus was the excellent disabled facilities as my husband unfortunately had had an accident the week before which left him with one leg in plaster.
The whole family appreciated the wonderful goodies in the welcome basket and the fresh milk etc in the fridge.
The children loved being so close to the lambs especially when they came in to the garden.
The only thing my son in law missed was a Yorkshire pudding baking tray!
Thank you Medwen for visiting to ensure we had all we needed. I would highly recommend this holiday home.
