This traditional farmhouse, dog friendly accommodation is just outside Llanberis the popular tourist destination at the foot of Yr-Wyddfa (Snowdon). A substantial detached property set within 3 acres of land in Eryri (Snowdonia), the cottage is the perfect base to explore this mountainous region of North Wales.

The front door leads us into a large kitchen diner complete with a traditional Aga stove. The traditional farmhouse kitchen where you can sit and have a natter at the table whilst someone is cooking up a delicious supper with the Aga giving that cosy warmth. A quarry tiled floor and simple fitted units add to the country cottage feel of the accommodation.

The adjoining lounge boasts a wonderful log burner set within an impressive inglenook fireplace. Large comfortable armchairs and sofas surround a central coffee table sitting on a locally sourced oak floor. A light, airy room yet nice and cosy especially to hunker down in front of the fire with a panad!

There are three bedrooms upstairs. One double room with a small en-suite and two twin rooms. Victorian cast iron beds are complimented by some lovely mahogany bedroom furniture standing, once again, on a luxurious oak floor. All three bedrooms have wonderful uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. The family bathroom having lovely wood panelling, includes a classic white washbasin and wc as well as a fantastic freestanding roll top bath tub with a central overhead electric shower, nice to have a soak in after a day out exploring.

Location

The cottage is located down a quiet country lane in a very quiet rural location some 2 miles outside Llanberis. A great base for exploring Eryri and North Wales. Plenty of private off street parking to the side and rear and a small private lawned area immediately in front of the cottage.

Beyond that, the cottage is set within 3 acres of farmland which guests are welcome to explore. You will have to share this space on occasion with the owners prize winning welsh black cattle but they’re very docile if a little curious.

Llanberis and Yr Wyddfa form the backdrop to the property and there are many tourism attractions and activity provides operating in the town. Attractions such as the Snowdon Mountain Railway / Rheilffordd yr Wyddfa that’s been faithfully ferrying guests to the highest point in England and Wales for over 200 years. Llanberis Slate Museum is a great attraction to visit whilst Surf-lines Adventure, Zip World and Ropes and Ladders are sure to get your heart pumping.

The historic town of Caernarfon and its famous castle is a 15 minute drive away. Betws Y Coed is a lovely town to visit, some great restaurants, with its wealth of outdoor equipment shops and Beddgelert and the Welsh Highland Railway are also within a 30 minute drive.

A gem of a place, with a warm welcome. The cottage is spacious – if anything more so than the description suggests – and has a great kitchen and relaxing space downstairs. Beautifully furnished and equipped, with everything we needed. There are walks from the door, or you’re a few minutes into Llanberis, and over to Ogwen valley. Hosts were very kind, with a thoughtful welcome pack and available locally if there were any issues. Also loved to see the transformation detailed in the photo album, showing all the work that had gone into the place. Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay here, and would definitely recommend it. Welcoming rustic cottage surrounded by beautiful countryside. Very responsive hosts (Ms. Jones) who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Well stocked and welcoming, with many outdoors things to do within short driving distances (3+ castles within 30 minutes, Mount Snowdon, and various other hiking trails). Great for families, even with small children.

Lovely place and stay. The only issue we had is that we didn’t stay longer! Do yourself a favour and book this spot. Couldn’t have been better, lovely welcome hamper, lovingly finished, presented and managed. We hope to return soon!

We stayed at Perthi-Uchaf for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. The cottage was spotlessly clean and felt very homely, the decor is very in keeping and we loved some of the quirky features. The basket of goodies was a lovely treat and the home made Welsh cakes were delicious. Location is perfect for getting into Llanberis and for climbing Snowdon. Also easy access to Anglesey. The only downside was the low water pressure in the showers but aside from that we really enjoyed our family holiday.
We would love to return.
