This traditional farmhouse, dog friendly accommodation is just outside Llanberis the popular tourist destination at the foot of Yr-Wyddfa (Snowdon). A substantial detached property set within 3 acres of land in Eryri (Snowdonia), the cottage is the perfect base to explore this mountainous region of North Wales.

The front door leads us into a large kitchen diner complete with a traditional Aga stove. The traditional farmhouse kitchen where you can sit and have a natter at the table whilst someone is cooking up a delicious supper with the Aga giving that cosy warmth. A quarry tiled floor and simple fitted units add to the country cottage feel of the accommodation.

The adjoining lounge boasts a wonderful log burner set within an impressive inglenook fireplace. Large comfortable armchairs and sofas surround a central coffee table sitting on a locally sourced oak floor. A light, airy room yet nice and cosy especially to hunker down in front of the fire with a panad!

There are three bedrooms upstairs. One double room with a small en-suite shower room and two twin rooms. Victorian cast iron beds are complimented by some lovely mahogany bedroom furniture standing, once again, on a luxurious oak floor. All three bedrooms have wonderful uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. The family bathroom having lovely wood panelling, includes a classic white washbasin and wc as well as a fantastic freestanding roll top bath tub with a central overhead electric shower, nice to have a soak in after a day out exploring.

Location

The cottage is located down a quiet country lane in a very quiet rural location some 2 miles outside Llanberis. A great base for exploring Eryri and North Wales. Plenty of private off street parking to the side and rear and a small private lawned area immediately in front of the cottage.

Beyond that, the cottage is set within 3 acres of farmland which guests are welcome to explore. You will have to share this space on occasion with the owners prize winning welsh black cattle but they’re very docile if a little curious.

Llanberis and Yr Wyddfa form the backdrop to the property and there are many tourism attractions and activity provides operating in the town. Attractions such as the Snowdon Mountain Railway / Rheilffordd yr Wyddfa that’s been faithfully ferrying guests to the highest point in England and Wales for over 200 years. Llanberis Slate Museum is a great attraction to visit whilst Surf-lines Adventure, Zip World and Ropes and Ladders are sure to get your heart pumping.

The historic town of Caernarfon and its famous castle is a 15 minute drive away. Betws Y Coed is a lovely town to visit, some great restaurants, with its wealth of outdoor equipment shops and Beddgelert and the Welsh Highland Railway are also within a 30 minute drive.

We had a lovely week at Perthi-Uchaf. The cottage is fantastically well equipped with everything provided including logs and coal. The welcome hamper was very thoughtful and extremely generous. The cottage is in a lovely quiet setting but only a few minutes drive into Llanberis and even nearer a tremendous local pub in Llanrug (Y Glyntwrog Inn). With Caernarfon, Bangor and Zipworld at Penryhn all within 15 -20 minutes away the location is hard to beat. Janice popped in to welcome us and check that we had all we needed shortly after we arrived and give us some great advice about local attractions and good places to eat.
Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic stay here. The cottage was warm and welcoming – the hamper and roaring fire were both much appreciated when we arrived. The cottage itself is brilliantly located and enabled us to explore the parts of North Wales that we love so much. We were impressed by how well equipped the cottage was and this made our stay really easy. Our hosts were super friendly and helpful. Thank you! Hope to be back soon!

The cottage was perfectly located for everything we wanted to see and do on our trip. The cottage is beautifully presented with absolutely everything you could possible need for your stay. The wood burner was great for creating a warm and cosy atmosphere. Janice and Mike were great hosts who were quick to respond to our questions and queries. Thanks for everything. CJ

We had a lovely stay, the cottage was clean on our arrival and the fabulous welcome basket was very much appreciated! The cottage is comfortable and well equipped, the owners were friendly and checked in with us to make sure everything was ok. Perthi- Uchaf is well situated to explore Snowdonia National Park and Anglesey, yet peaceful and quiet in its setting. We loved having the cows and calfs for our neighbours!
A cupboard or shelf for storing food would be the only slight improvement we would make, nevertheless, we would whole heartedly recommend Perthi Uchaf and would love to come again!

A lovely comfortable cottage with plenty of space for the family, it offered the perfect balance of easy access to the road network and a peaceful stay. We would certainly stay again!

What a setting! The cottage is in a lovely setting, the cows being your only direct neighbours. For anyone worried.. no, it doesn’t smell at all.
Michael and Janice live just 2 fields away and are wonderful hosts. Michael was great with local tips about where to go and the history of the cottage.
On entering the cottage, we saw the welcome hamper, which was amazing, not had such generosity from any other cottage we’ve stayed in before.
Perthi Uchaf itself is an ideal place to relax and getaway. Open the door in the lounge to see gorgeous sunsets… or just to see a cow or two!
Everything needed is supplied. We found it very comfortable and well equipped. 3 of us are 6 footers and we were worried by a previous review. No need. There are a couple of doorways to duck a little but the ceiling heights are all good. And we could a use the showers with no problem.

There is so much to do and see in the immediate area and in Anglesey. Perthi Uchaf is an excellent point to reach everything.

In about 17 years of picking holiday places with the family, this is only the 2nd cottage and location we would like to return to.

Thank you Janice and Michael.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Perthi-Uchaf. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. The location was wonderful and so peaceful. The mountains and lakes are stunning and I will miss the scenery when I return to very flat East Anglia. Would recommend this cottage, and hope to come back soon to lovely Snowdonia.

The cottage is lovely – great size and very well appointed. The location is beautiful and in a good place to explore so many sights while there. It was very nice to wake up in such a quiet place with just the cows for company.
The owner visited us to make sure all was satisfactory and told us the history of the cottage which was very interesting. I would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely weekend, the cottage is idyllic & was easy to find with the satnav. Our second trip to North Wales & second time to book with Dioni. We crossed the beautiful Menai Bridge & visited Beaumaris on Sunday & enjoyed fish & chips & ice cream. The weather was gorgeous & Anglesey was so pretty, we traveled North to Cemaes Bay & saw jade green rocks & ducks on the beach. On the way home we stopped for photos at Llynon Mill, a working wind mill. On Monday after a very comfortable night, so lovely to hear the cattle in the morning. Hope to visit with you again x
