A gem of a place, with a warm welcome. The cottage is spacious – if anything more so than the description suggests – and has a great kitchen and relaxing space downstairs. Beautifully furnished and equipped, with everything we needed. There are walks from the door, or you’re a few minutes into Llanberis, and over to Ogwen valley. Hosts were very kind, with a thoughtful welcome pack and available locally if there were any issues. Also loved to see the transformation detailed in the photo album, showing all the work that had gone into the place. Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay here, and would definitely recommend it. Welcoming rustic cottage surrounded by beautiful countryside. Very responsive hosts (Ms. Jones) who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Well stocked and welcoming, with many outdoors things to do within short driving distances (3+ castles within 30 minutes, Mount Snowdon, and various other hiking trails). Great for families, even with small children.

Lovely place and stay. The only issue we had is that we didn’t stay longer! Do yourself a favour and book this spot. Couldn’t have been better, lovely welcome hamper, lovingly finished, presented and managed. We hope to return soon!

A lovely cottage in a really peaceful environment ..easy parking on site….fully furnished with everything needed …warm, clean and tidy with quiet garden ….well located for many activities and outings…..freebies left by the owner were a lovely surprise…
Highly recommended if you want the peace of the Welsh countryside while still being central to most activities.. good local garage for resupply!
Thank you Janice …Great holiday!

Lovely clean spacious accommodation amazing views of the sunset and friendly cows during the day.
Bath rather small. Very generous hamper left for us by Janice and Michael with a homemade Welsh cake.

We stayed at Perthi-Uchaf for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. The cottage was spotlessly clean and felt very homely, the decor is very in keeping and we loved some of the quirky features. The basket of goodies was a lovely treat and the home made Welsh cakes were delicious. Location is perfect for getting into Llanberis and for climbing Snowdon. Also easy access to Anglesey. The only downside was the low water pressure in the showers but aside from that we really enjoyed our family holiday.
We would love to return.
Stephen
Fantastic stay. Felt very welcome. We will be back. Thankyou

We had a lovely stay at Dioni Holiday Cottages. The cottage is absolutely charming, full of character, and so comfortable. Even though we visited in winter, we were always warm and cosy. It’s tucked away in a peaceful spot, far from the hustle and bustle, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. We spent a week there and found it to be the perfect base for exploring Wales. Every evening, we looked forward to returning to the cottage. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner and loved hearing the story of how his family restored the cottage using locally sourced materials. It was a wonderful stay and we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. P.S. Our dog loved it too.

What a find! Perfectly located at the edge of Eryri National Park with views of the peaks surrounding Yr Wyddfa. The cottage is very well equipped with three good sized bedrooms and a cosy configuration downstairs. There is a log burner which in the cold winter months heats the whole cottage through the central heating. The cottage is located roughly 10 minutes from the P&R car parks in Llanberis and just under 20 minutes from Pen-y-Pass so is perfect for accessing the beautiful peaks of Eryri. Easy access to Caernarfon for all amenities and the whole of Gwynedd and Anglesey are within easy reach by car for exploration of the this Welsh-speaking heartland. Diolch yn fawr to Janice and Michael who were friendly and brilliant hosts! We will be back!

Just had a wonderful weeks stay at this lovely cottage, perfect location for exploring North Wales, the cottage was well equipped with the addition of a lovely thoughtful welcome basket and homemade mince pies ! The owners checked in to ensure everything was ok – couldn’t ask for better thank you for a lovely stay

We had a lovely week at Perthi-Uchaf. The cottage is fantastically well equipped with everything provided including logs and coal. The welcome hamper was very thoughtful and extremely generous. The cottage is in a lovely quiet setting but only a few minutes drive into Llanberis and even nearer a tremendous local pub in Llanrug (Y Glyntwrog Inn). With Caernarfon, Bangor and Zipworld at Penryhn all within 15 -20 minutes away the location is hard to beat. Janice popped in to welcome us and check that we had all we needed shortly after we arrived and give us some great advice about local attractions and good places to eat.
Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic stay here. The cottage was warm and welcoming – the hamper and roaring fire were both much appreciated when we arrived. The cottage itself is brilliantly located and enabled us to explore the parts of North Wales that we love so much. We were impressed by how well equipped the cottage was and this made our stay really easy. Our hosts were super friendly and helpful. Thank you! Hope to be back soon!

The cottage was perfectly located for everything we wanted to see and do on our trip. The cottage is beautifully presented with absolutely everything you could possible need for your stay. The wood burner was great for creating a warm and cosy atmosphere. Janice and Mike were great hosts who were quick to respond to our questions and queries. Thanks for everything. CJ

We had a lovely stay, the cottage was clean on our arrival and the fabulous welcome basket was very much appreciated! The cottage is comfortable and well equipped, the owners were friendly and checked in with us to make sure everything was ok. Perthi- Uchaf is well situated to explore Snowdonia National Park and Anglesey, yet peaceful and quiet in its setting. We loved having the cows and calfs for our neighbours!
A cupboard or shelf for storing food would be the only slight improvement we would make, nevertheless, we would whole heartedly recommend Perthi Uchaf and would love to come again!
William Arthur Jones
A lovely comfortable cottage with plenty of space for the family, it offered the perfect balance of easy access to the road network and a peaceful stay. We would certainly stay again!
Mark Ashby
What a setting! The cottage is in a lovely setting, the cows being your only direct neighbours. For anyone worried.. no, it doesn’t smell at all.
Michael and Janice live just 2 fields away and are wonderful hosts. Michael was great with local tips about where to go and the history of the cottage.
On entering the cottage, we saw the welcome hamper, which was amazing, not had such generosity from any other cottage we’ve stayed in before.
Perthi Uchaf itself is an ideal place to relax and getaway. Open the door in the lounge to see gorgeous sunsets… or just to see a cow or two!
Everything needed is supplied. We found it very comfortable and well equipped. 3 of us are 6 footers and we were worried by a previous review. No need. There are a couple of doorways to duck a little but the ceiling heights are all good. And we could a use the showers with no problem.
There is so much to do and see in the immediate area and in Anglesey. Perthi Uchaf is an excellent point to reach everything.
In about 17 years of picking holiday places with the family, this is only the 2nd cottage and location we would like to return to.
Thank you Janice and Michael.
Linda Irene Crombie
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Perthi-Uchaf. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. The location was wonderful and so peaceful. The mountains and lakes are stunning and I will miss the scenery when I return to very flat East Anglia. Would recommend this cottage, and hope to come back soon to lovely Snowdonia.
Sarah Smith
The cottage is lovely – great size and very well appointed. The location is beautiful and in a good place to explore so many sights while there. It was very nice to wake up in such a quiet place with just the cows for company.
The owner visited us to make sure all was satisfactory and told us the history of the cottage which was very interesting. I would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely weekend, the cottage is idyllic & was easy to find with the satnav. Our second trip to North Wales & second time to book with Dioni. We crossed the beautiful Menai Bridge & visited Beaumaris on Sunday & enjoyed fish & chips & ice cream. The weather was gorgeous & Anglesey was so pretty, we traveled North to Cemaes Bay & saw jade green rocks & ducks on the beach. On the way home we stopped for photos at Llynon Mill, a working wind mill. On Monday after a very comfortable night, so lovely to hear the cattle in the morning. Hope to visit with you again x
Stephanie McDonald
A very comfortable and enjoyable short stay. The owners here are lovely and very amenable!
Ms Mo Crowe
Peace, quiet, seclusion. This is a beautiful and historic house restored with great care by the owners who have maintained many original features. Janice and Michael could not have been more helpful. There is very ample space in each of the rooms and the beds were supremely comfortable. the Wi-Fi worked well according to my teenage kids. My son is 6ft 2″ – everything was too low for him such as doorways and mirrors. Families who are all over 6ft might struggle. This is a small detail however as everything else was lovely. Thank you for a pleasurable stay.
Mrs R Maddams
Fabulous base for touring in Snowdonia. Very well equipped, spacious holiday cottage with bags of character. We received the warmest Welsh welcome from Janice & Micheal & loved watching the new calves, free range chickens and beautiful Collie – Meghan . Freshly laid eggs available every morning – best I’ve ever tasted!

Fantastic cottage and hosts Janice and Mike were a pleasure to be around,The walks Mike directed us to were stunning, while the cattle next door were great neighbours. To top it off the weather was superb.MANY THANKS

Beautiful cottage perfectly located in peaceful surroundings in a great location for exploring Snowdonia. The cottage is homely and has everything you need for a great comfortable holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here and would highly recommend it.
Glenn
Spent half term at this location and it was a good week. Had everything there, lots of random bits which all adds character to the property. The owners were phoned with a question about the boiler and within 10mins had come over to chat rather than phone which was a nice thing to do.
I noticed the reviews said people had dogs – you would not be able to tell as it was clean throughout.
Ideal location, only 20-30 min drive to any of the main locations whichever direction.
Would go back and take friends next time!
Janet and Derk Jan Kiewiet
We’ve had a wonderful time at Perthi-Uchaf. The cottage is very beautiful and we felt really at home. Thanks to Janice and Michael for their great hospitality! We’ll love to come back one day.
Alison
We had a truly wonderful holiday in this gorgeous farm house. The house is extremely comfortable and well equipped. The log burner gives a lovely welcome atmosphere and the owners supplied plenty of logs and coal for the week. The owners couldn’t have been more thoughtful and kind. In short we were very pleased with this holiday home indeed and thought it exceptional value for money.
Viv
Fantastic cottage, very cosy and well located for exploring the area. Lovely Views of Snowdon if you walked down the road a little. Michael was very helpful and chatty and the supply of logs was v much appreciated! My only criticism would be to note that the roll top bath is not a standard size bath and much smaller than expected, it was fine to bathe my children but if you wanted a soak after a long walk you would be hard pushed to fit in (and I am only 5ft 4!).
Lovely place though and would like to return!
Julia Farrimond
This cottage has an amazing feel of calm and relaxation. Within easy distance of many attractions. The owners are lovely people who were quick to respond to any questions we had. We had a fabulous week and would certainly stay there again.
Lesley Jarvis
A lovely farmhouse, clean and tidy with everything we needed. Quite and peaceful area but not remote, with Llanberis, Caernarvon and other places of interest nearby.
Mike Taylor
Very enjoyable a relaxing break. The house is wonderful and it was nice to learn the history from the owner.
Great location to explore North Wales, and enjoy Snowdonia.
Anne Patmore
Lovely cottage, very comfortable and ‘homely’ in quiet peaceful surroundings. The children loved having cows right outside the windows! Very friendly and helpful owners who made sure we had all we needed. Lots to do in the area, Penrhyn Castle and Plas Newyd both good and Greenwood adventure playground was excellent, as well as lots of good beaches. Steam trains too! Useful having garage/shop nearby for milk, etc. We would definitely book this cottage again if we come back to the area.
Amanda
We have just returned from a week away at this property. It was so lovely you couldn’t fail to have a good time. Beautiful convenient location. Will definitely be returning.
Lisa
We had a lovely week in this wonderful cottage – would definitely recommend it and hope to return.
Joanne Coyne
We loved everything about this cottage; its character and charm, cleanliness, comfortable beds. Lovely warm welcome from owners who had left us cake & wine and had a lovely chat with Mike who told us the history of the cottage. Beautiful location, it really was idyllic with lovely, calm neighbours; the beautiful Welsh Blacks & the sheep! We only spent 3 nights there (joined by my mum and dad for one of them). We would definately recommend and try to stay again, but for longer!!
Angus Ward
Lovely, warm cottage in beautiful and private surroundings in the country. Ten minutes drive to Llanberis and fifteen to Canarvon. We really couldn’t have done better.
Kim Skeplorn
Another fab week. Perfect location, very comfortable hope to be back next year.
romaine delaney
Lovely cottage, we were welcomed with a homemade cake and wine in the kitchen, the fire was set with plenty more fuel supplied for our stay. The situation was great and we loved our neighbours of lambs and Welsh Blacks. Everything we needed including super comfortable beds!
Barbara Borejko
Fantastic will definitely look to book again perfectly situated for all we needed and the cottage met all and exceeded our expectations.
David Storey
Loved this cottage. Cosy farmhouse very nicely furnished. found it to be a great central location for touring the mountain valleys, Welsh castlesrs, Anglesey and Llyn peninsula.
Angie Ingham
Lovely warm, comfortable cottage in a great location, and a beautiful cake waiting on arrival.
Our only disappointment was the kitchen equipment (crockery/cutlery/glassware) which, though plentiful, was a bit random with no wine glasses and few utility knives and teaspoons.
Kim skeplorn
Just enjoyed a fantastic week in this lovely cosy cottage!
Janice jones
Thank you for your kind comment for the cottage we have now fitted mattress toppers on all the beds to enhance guest comfort.
sally
Stunning cottage, lovely and cosy and in a good location.
Mattress was perfect for me, but definitely too firm for my Mum who had to sleep on sofa…….it’s impossible to please everyone, but a couple of mattress toppers would go a long way.
stephanie mcdonald
A lovely cottage in a peaceful location. Felt like a home from home and has all the equipment you need. Great for visiting with dogs. We would definitely rebook this for future visits… though will bring mattress toppers as mattresses were too firm for us!
Catherine Spitzer
Fantastic cottage in perfect location for Snowdon. Comfortable and homely. Would highly recommend.
