Situated on the south western tip of Anglesey, the stunning Newborough forest and beach is a fantastic place to be. Home to the famous Llanddwyn Bay and Twr Mawr lighthouse, the beach itself is wide and open and a great place for swimming and watersports. The neighbouring forest has a number of walking and cycling trails running through. Perfect for days out whatever the weather.

By the cottage, there is lots of open space including a paddock with horses immediately in front. The private patio to the front of the property is a great place to sit back and take in all the views – it will certainly be a place to relax in the evening having dinner with a glass of wine in the summer evenings.

There are plenty of walking and cycling options from the cottage so if you have bikes, be sure to bring them with you. Anglesey has lots to offer. It is of course home to the village with the longest name: LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLLGOGERYCHWYRNDROBWLLLLANTYSILIOGOGOGOCH (Llanfair PG to the locals) It’s always great to go and get your photo op in front of the station sign!

Beaumaris Castle is a must to see – part of Edward I’s ring of fortresses, which included Caernarfon, Harlech and Conwy, it is said to be the most technically perfect castle. It is now a world heritage site.

There are 5 lighthouses on Anglesey and South Stack on the north west coast is probably the most famous as it is still in use and once you’ve gone down the 365 stairs to get to it, you can go inside and see how it works.

The Rib Rides along the Menai Straits is very popular – going along at high speeds is great fun – there are various different trips you can take. The skippers are very informative on the great history of the area and what you can see.

Other great things to do include a visit to Plas Newydd, Plas Cadnant, Pili Palas Butterfly Farm, Anglesey Sea Zoo and the Anglesey Race Circuit.

There are great restaurants and cafes across the island giving you a great choice of options. You are also only 30 minutes away from other towns including Caernarfon and Bangor.

A truly amazing break with friends amid the turmoil of ever changing lockdown rules.
The hubbies have had amazing opportunities to embrace their photography hobby. Whilst we have enjoyed walks, visiting local towns and most importantly enjoying the wildlife and amazing views.
Managed a meal out at Dylan’s in Menai Bridge which was lovely.Enjoyed cooking too in the cottage and barbecue was ideal as we have been very fortunate with the weather.Great hosts with particular attention to detail and a comprehensive range of cooking equipment.
Beautiful cottage – can’t fault it. Lovely to see the photos of how it came about too!

Feeling much more chilled and would love to return.
    Many thanks

Another wonderful time at Tŷ Chi.

We were here for a week this time and were blessed with decent weather with the exception of half a day of rain.
Definately recommend bike rides from the cottage to Malltraeth- Llangefni and on to the reservoir.

We also enjoyed the cottage to Aberffraw via Malltraeth with coffee stops at Aberffraw and the Riverside cafe at Malltraeth.

Newborough Beach is a must do too – lovely walk.

We have explored the island including Dulas Bay,Cemaes Bay, Bull Bay, Moelfre and Benllech.

Walk from Red Wharf Bay to Benllech with a rewarding drink and bite to eat at the The Ship Inn.

We also ventured to Portmeirion for the day – beautiful.
Lots of faboulous memories. We will be back!!

An amazing week in an amazing cottage.

    Jackie & Chris
