Location

Situated on the south western tip of Anglesey, the stunning Newborough forest and beach is a fantastic place to be. Home to the famous Llanddwyn Bay and Twr Mawr lighthouse, the beach itself is wide and open and a great place for swimming and watersports. The neighbouring forest has a number of walking and cycling trails running through. Perfect for days out whatever the weather.

By the cottage, there is lots of open space including a paddock with horses immediately in front. The private patio to the front of the property is a great place to sit back and take in all the views – it will certainly be a place to relax in the evening having dinner with a glass of wine in the summer evenings.

There are plenty of walking and cycling options from the cottage so if you have bikes, be sure to bring them with you. Anglesey has lots to offer. It is of course home to the village with the longest name: LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLLGOGERYCHWYRNDROBWLLLLANTYSILIOGOGOGOCH (Llanfair PG to the locals) It’s always great to go and get your photo op in front of the station sign!

Beaumaris Castle is a must to see – part of Edward I’s ring of fortresses, which included Caernarfon, Harlech and Conwy, it is said to be the most technically perfect castle. It is now a world heritage site.

There are 5 lighthouses on Anglesey and South Stack on the north west coast is probably the most famous as it is still in use and once you’ve gone down the 365 stairs to get to it, you can go inside and see how it works.

The Rib Rides along the Menai Straits is very popular – going along at high speeds is great fun – there are various different trips you can take. The skippers are very informative on the great history of the area and what you can see.

Other great things to do include a visit to Plas Newydd, Plas Cadnant, Pili Palas Butterfly Farm, Anglesey Sea Zoo and the Anglesey Race Circuit.

There are great restaurants and cafes across the island giving you a great choice of options. You are also only 30 minutes away from other towns including Caernarfon and Bangor.

Suffice to say that all the other reviews of this beautiful cottage are true! We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Tÿ Chi, an area with which we are familiar. We have stayed in many other accommodations near-by but the level of quality and attention to aesthetic detail, which is a signature of Dioni properties, brings Ty Chi out tops. If you appreciate a perfect balance of luxury with a home-from-home feel, you will love Ty Chi.
Diolch yn fawr Jane. Welwn ni chi eto, mae’n siwr!

    and ….BREATH!
If there is a more relaxing, comfortable place to recover from the stresses and strains of everyday monotony, we have yet to find it!

We were the first visitors to this very special cottage way back in March and couldn’t wait to return for a full week of winding down and recharging our batteries!

The first thing we noticed was how beautifully clean and well cared for everything is. After a summer season of constant use we expected some wear and tear but everything seems as new as the first time we came.

Another thing that never changes is the warmth of the welcome! Jane and Anne are amazing host and ensure that everything is provided for their guests. Since we were here in March they have provided an additional facility of a laundry and even a games/ fitness room for the youngsters.

We are so lucky to have you two in our lives and consider you as true friends for life.

Thank you so much from us all.

What a fabulous place- home from home. Great location.
Weather was kind and we managed to get out and about – we brought our bikes and the forest was easy to get to.
Thank you jane and Anne for making us very welcome and sharing your home.

Another great week at Tŷ Chi. Great walks, wildlife and weather. Will see you again next year.

So wonderful to be back in Anglesey again .Three years since we’ve been and I’d forgotten how much we love it.

The cottage is fabulous and a credit to you both. You can feel the hard work and love that has gone into creating it. We felt instantly at home and your extra special touches are wonderful. Great to have such thoughtful hosts.

A short and sweet visit this time but we packed a lot in.
Surfing at Cable Bay our regular trip to Llanddwyn Island, blessed with glorious weather, ideal for children. From Lligwy to Dulas and our favourite beach, Traeth Yr Ora.

Thank you, we’ve had a wonderful few days. Will be back I’m sure.

    What a delightful week!

Tŷ Chi is a superb, comfortable and homely cottage with brilliant amenities. Thank you Jane and Anne for your wonderful vision and delightful welcome.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found Anglesey to be a real ‘find’.

Lotty the lab particularly enjoyed the warm floor….and field…..and garden….and treats.

    Thank you

    Wow, where to start!
As a family we were excited to get away and spend some much needed time together. The last five days has totally exceeded all expectations.
From start to finish Jane has been the perfect host.Having arrived at this truly beautiful home, set in breathtaking surroundings we were greeted with welcoming big smiles. The cottage itself is beautiful, tastefully decorated and we love the sentiment and history behind it. The welcome pack was much appreciated and once again personalised for all the family having included treats for the lads and even our dog, Ruby.
The cottage has everything you could possibly need, it’s clean and a lot of thought has gone into it. The lads particularly enjoyed the games available to them and having their own en-suite was all very exciting.
After spending our days exploring the island there was no better way to finish and evening than out in the garden, Bbq lit, a glass of gin and tonic and melted marshmallows for the lads. Its incredibly tranquil and its been lovely to sit back and take it all in.
This was our first trip to Anglesey and its been amazing. We never realised how beautiful it was, promise to be back.
Pretty much everything with 15/20 min drive which is great with young children. Outstanding beaches, Jack thoroughly enjoyed looking for crabs and even Holly overcame her fear of picking them up. We particularly enjoyed Newborough beach and Rhosneigr beach. The bike ride and walks around Llangefni were also enjoyable and we were lucky enough to see three red squirrels.
We have plenty of wonderful memories and cannot thank you enough for all of your help and support and for allowing us to experience Tŷ Chi. We wish you ever success in the coming months.
Charlene, Ben, Jack, Holly & Ruby.

  8. Dave, Vicky, Margie & Kathy. Ziggy ( dog) says:

Beautiful well equipped cottage. Great escape from the reality of Life. We all had a fantastic time, some lovely walks in the local lanes, Llangefni and beaches various.
Some great places to eat, surprised how many let dogs in, specially recommend the Sea Shanty at Trearddur Bay.
Thank you for a great stay and for making us so welcome.

  9. Anthony and Leah Jones says:

Jane has done an amazing job creating Ty Chi. Every aspect of the cottage has been well thought out, well designed and well executed. Plenty of outside space for the dog ( safe and secure yard for when she ran away too! ) and the cottage is spacious and homely. High spec bathrooms and kitchen give a luxury hotel feel with the homeliness of a holiday cottage. Best of both here! Ty Chi is the perfect destination for a quiet weekend away but is also close enough to the beach at Newborough and other local attractions to keep you busy for longer. 5 stars wouldn’t be enough for this gem.

  10. Sharon Mawdsley says:

Peace and tranquility Ty Chi is a perfect retreat. Tastefully decorated with all the amenities you could ask for. A wonderful welcome gift and a pass to use for Newborough beach, which is beautiful. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here, 5 star all the way. Our dog loved basking in the sunny garden and enjoyed the little treat left for him also.

  11. Christopher Collett says:

This cottage is beautiful. Spent a wonderful weekend there with sunny weather. It has everything you need and lovely touches like the welcome box including eggs from the hens. Jane and Anne are so helpful and friendly. Would absolutely recommend.

  12. Bernice Priest says:

Cannot recommend Ty Chi and the owner Jane highly enough. A marvelous setting, extremely comfortable and equipped with everything you could possibly need on holiday. Jane is a wonderful host, so welcoming on our arrival and a pleasure to chat to. Little things mean a lot and Jane provided plenty of these, including a ‘goodies’ box and freshly laid eggs from her ‘ladies’. We will definitely return.
