Top 5 Dog Friendly Holiday Cottages

Published on 13 Feb 2026 by Gwion Llwyd

We love our four-legged friends here at Dioni, and we know you do too. Almost half of all our holiday cottage bookings are made by fellow dog lovers who are looking for a dog friendly place to stay. Dogs are very much valued members of our holiday tribe.

You probably already know that Wales is a fantastic place to holiday with your pooch: our rural community is very dog friendly, with the majority of pubs, cafés, shops and other attractions that are welcoming to well-behaved pets.

And of course, with all its big mountains-and-coast landscapes, Wales is a wonderful place to go walking with your four-legged friend too – there’s so much space to explore and sniff around. Just remember to keep your dog on a lead whenever you are near livestock. We love our farm animals too.

If the wagging tails are anything to go by, we reckon dogs just love their holidays in Wales. Take a look at our top 5 dog friendly cottages for your next holiday.
